Superman www.comicvine.com/superman/29-1807/VS Thor www.comicvine.com/thor/29-2268/Rules: - Current versions of each, but Classic feats are applicable for Thor (just for the sake of not opening the Current vs Classic debate).
- Random encounter. No prep or knowledge of the other.
- Battle takes place on the moon. Combatants begin 300 meters apart.
- Win by any means except BFR.
- Two scenarios: 1) Morals on. 2) Morals off.
(I checked the search function, and nothing turned up for this. I also have never seen this done here yet. If it has, just provide the link.)

If your allowing Classic feats for Thor than he wins the morals on fight. His warrior nature will mean he's prepared to take it that step further. His classic feats make him a match for current Superman in strength and durability, his speed feats a littel behind but not enough to matter. In the morals off fight I take the S man, without his boyscout nature he should be too much for Thor (as the difference in his approach morals on is the only edge he has, and morals off he's far more likely to speed blitz/ strike before Thor knows what hit him).

I agree with beatboks, Thor can win if Supes has morals on, a morals off Supes would take Thor though

Superman can still heat vision Thor with morals on. He also has flight. By the way, since Superman is in space, he does not have to worry about the damage his speed can cause so yes, he is a great deal faster than Thor.
Not saying that these give him the auto-win because Thor has his magic lightning and hammer, but physically, Thor cannot match him in speed. Strength, yes if we count classic feats but not speed.

I'm with erik.
I love Thor but I'd give Superman the win. Not easily though, it'd be a really epic battle.

Oh no, you did it didn't you?
I don't think speed is going to be much of an issue. Classic Thor has micro second combat ability (not that he showcases his speed often, because if he did, he would be unstoppable, this is always a tough subject). How often does Superman use speed blitzing throughout an entire fight? Even if he can speed blitz Thor, what evidence is there that one blitz can take care of Thor? Thor is extremely durable and has taken hits from beings stronger than himself. He's not going down anywhere near that easily.
Plus, he has his recent win vs. Glory (thing was crushing planets in its hands), which I doubt Superman would be capable of, just showcases how much damage Thor can do when not on earth and not holding back and not being worried about harming the mortals.

We have seen only small glimpses of what Superman can do when he is not holding back. What does it matter if one speed blitz can take Thor out or not? Superman can just speed blitz him again. It is not as if Superman gets tired and can only fight at speed for a limited set of time.
Then we still have Superman's flight and heat vision. Something Thor does not really have a solid counter to. Or even Superman's freeze breath, which will not hurt Thor but it may serve to cause him to lose his footing.

Hmmm , as much as I prefer Thor to Superman i'm gonna ave to give superman the over all win
i) The first with morals on could go either way , but due to Superman's nature i think warrior madness could overwhelm him , classic Thor is on par with Superman in strength but superman is superior in speed , but not by loads , also with his morals on he's most likely gonna get into a slug fight or be using his heat vision , Thor could take his hits i beleive just as Supes could take Thor's however IMO Thor's lightning may give him the edge oer current Supes but it could go either way. ii) Supes wins here , morales off he can blitz him and use his speed a lot more effectively than normal .
Overall Supes wins as he as a chance at taking the double but if he doesn't he beats Thor in the second fight worse than (if) Thor beats him in the first.

Clark wins in my opinion.
please consider the feats alone and not the creator's statements and conclusions. As the video is obviously full of flaws, even if the feats there are true.

Erik- really. How many times does superman constantly speed blitz throughout an entire fight with morals on? And you're acting like Thor is going to just sit there and take it. Not going to happen.

To answer you question, none unless the fighter is a speedster, which Thor is. I am not acting like anything. Thor has never shown the speed that Superman has when he is not holding back. Not even his classic feats match it.

If Superman did choose to speed blitz there would be little Thor could do to stop him. Thor's victory depends entirely on Superman not blitzing him and using his speed advantage, but the advantage is still there. That's why I was willing to give it to Thor if Supes has his morals on. The one physical stat that can be heavily debated on between Thor and Supes is durability. Thor has some insane durability feats.

Erik-El and falcon- Yeah, I'm just referring to scenario one with morals on. With morals on, I'm pretty sure Superman doesn't utilize his speed all that much during battle. I'm not a big Superman guy so go ahead and correct me if I am wrong. With morals off, sure, theoretically Superman could use his speed constantly from that start in which case, Thor doesn't stand much of a chance probably.

ckal: That is the thing though, Superman holds back a great deal with morals on. But that does not mean he tries to not hurt someone who is trying to kill him. A few years ago, he was microwaving a guy with his heat vision because the guy was trying to kill him. He did it enough to make the guy give up and then Superman kept going until the guy was completely helpless. Morals on do not mean Superman will not give it a little extra when he gets pissed off.

Thor can't win.His best moves will only work provided Superman lets him pull them off.He doesn't have to speed blitz to beat Thor. His regular combat speed far exceeds Thor's.Thor is only as fast as Superman at his top speed which he can't get into instantly.Let's not forget that Superman is stronger than Thor, a better fighter, and has a far better track record as far as winning fights.

He's going to have to give it more then a little extra against someone of Classic Thor's caliber though.

He does not need to give it his all because Thor can barely keep up with normal Superman when he (Thor) is going all out.

Characters line Mongul, Kalibak, Hawkman, Atlas, Doomsday, Silver Banshee, even characters like Bloodsport can tag him with bullets. Supes CAN run circles around Thor if he wanted to. CIS dictates that Supes will have a slugfest with him instead.
