These two foes have their penultimate battle. -Takes place here: -Assume there is torrential rain in the area. -Location evacuated. -Won through death only. -No BFR -They have morals on but know they have to kill their opponent. -Start off from 50 feet apart. -Current versions of both. -Namor has just emerged from the sea and is fully hydrated. Iron Man VS Namor

/Tangential Can we drop with the whole ONCE AND FOR ALL thing? I mean it makes sense in the context of most of us being emigrants from CV where we've done these fights before, but it doesn't make sense for a fledgling debate site, and let's not kid ourselves that anything we say here will put a stamp on that particular debate once and for all. I'm not directing this at this specific thread, but to the trend in general.

Vance started it But really, I don't have a problem with it when it's connected to matches that have always been treated as heated/somewhat even debates.

Well, Extremis Armor Tony gave Namor trouble, am I correct? Well, current Iron Man's armor makes Extremis Armor look like a relic. So, logically, should Tony be able to take Namor down?

Also, as for the ''ONCE AND FOR ALL'' thing, I think it's just for the site, so we don't have dupes (spelling?).

I didn't start the once and for all because I've already had these debates on comicvine.I started once and for all because I put match-ups together that are sort of rivalries between characters. This one for instance is a debate that has happened several times on CV but it has also happened several times in comics.Namor and Iron Man have kind of always clashed. That's why I did one for Sabretooth and Psylocke because I heard that he had killed her in combat and I wanted to know if other people thought it was a feasible occurance..It's an in comic battle that I think people my have wondered about but just haven't made a thread yet.

Iron Man actually had his poorest showing ever against Namor while in Extremis. He's given him extremely tough fights/stalemated him even underwater (fun fact, Namor had never beaten Iron Man before that occurance) with inferior armors, but Namor somehow pwned him in his most advanced model.
That's Bendis for you.

LOL. Your take on this match?

Presuming Iron Man can still do some of the stuff he did in Extremis, and taking into account the fight is to the death, he would just nuke Namor.

Then I guess I made a point out of ignorance, because that does make more sense. IDK, I just felt we were abusing the title a bit, but apparently I didn't know the facts.

The ONCE AND FOR ALL battles will remain under a couple conditions:
-They are even matches -Normal circumstances -Normal gear -Most regular and recent version of each character (things like Death Gambit and bone claw Wolverine would not be allowed)
The reason is to make it the be all end all debate for a battle between these two characters under their most normal conditions. Additional battles can be made between the characters which take into account different scenarios, gear, and versions of the character. But, these battles are often (like Vance stated), between characters who are known for fighting each other, or bring about large discussions when brought up.
