Classic X-Men: (all at original levels) -Cyclops -Beast -Angel -Jean Grey -Iceman VS Classic Fantastic Four (all at original levels) -Mr. Fantastic -Human Torch -Invisible Woman -The Thing Location: Unpopulated. Rules: -Begin 20 feet apart. -Morals apply. -Both have basic knowledge on the other team (both were likely in the media quite a bit at the time, so it's only logical). -Standard elimination rules apply.

Well, do we assume that they are fighting at their best? =]

Morals apply, so you be the judge.

@k4tz: Are the FF at their original levels or do you intend for this to be a ragestomp?

In a once and for all fight, fighting at your best within the limits of your personality, sounds more fair. =]

@k4tz: Are the FF at their original levels or do you intend for this to be a ragestomp? Original. That's exactly why I have the word "classic" thrown all over the place, lol.

Yes you have Classic but you stated that the X-Men were at their original power levels while the FF are not stated as such.
FF have been around for a while so Classic covers a huge gap in time now. It was not too long before Sue stopped being the 50's era wife with powers and became the juggernaut of the team.

Here's how I see it playing out: Angel and Human Torch will take each other on, since they're the only people in the air. Jean and Susan will probably take each other on since they had such similar power types at the time. Beast will probably attack the Thing. Back in the day, Beast had a habit of trying to punch out really strong guys, despite having only a little superhuman strength himself. Iceman and Beast were best friends at the time, so I can see Iceman helping him with Thing. Cyclops and Mr Fantastic will fight since they're the only ones without dancing partners, and leaders love to fight other leaders. Angel vs Human Torch: As I recall, this fight has already happened in the comics, and Angel won. Torch tossed some fireballs, which Angel dodged with ease. Then Angel flew away at top speed, getting Torch to follow him. Then, due to his superior agility and manuverability in the air, Angel tricked Torch into crashing into a wall. Invisible Woman vs Marvel Girl: I think Invisible Woman should win this. Marvel Girl, at original levels, hardly ever did anything impressive with her telekinesis (and she didn't have telepathy at the time). Sue Storm had feats about on the same level, but she also has the advantage of invisibility, giving her an edge over Jean. Beast and Iceman vs Thing: Are we going with original original Thing, who could only lift about 5 tons? Cyclops vs Mr Fantastic: Even in his earlier days with his lower power showings, I believe Reed was pretty much immune to blunt force damage. Cyclops could knock him around for a while with optic blasts, but they wouldn't do any damage. Reed would eventually slip around and manage to wrap Scott up or something, then knock him out.
Ok. After the first few minutes of the fight, I believe we'll still have Angel, Invisible Woman, and Mr Fantastic. The potential game breaker is what version of Thing we're using. If he's the original original 5 tonner, then Beast and Iceman should beat him easily. But if he's on any significantly higher strength level, I think he could take a small majority over Bobby and Hank. So, depending on which version of Thing it is, we could have two possible scenarios now. 1) Angel vs Invisible Woman, Thing, and Mr. Fantastic. Translation: curbstomp.
2) Angel, Iceman, and Beast vs Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic X-Men win this scenario. Iceman could easily solo Mr Fantastic (to quote the crappy F4 movie: "Tell me, Dr Richards. What happens to rubber when it's super-cooled?"). And I believe Angel and Beast would be capable of taking out Susan.

"Yes you have Classic but you stated that the X-Men were at their original power levels while the FF are not stated as such." Use common sense. The subject title is classic x-men vs classic f4 I edited the part you pointed out in the OP, though. "FF have been around for a while so Classic covers a huge gap in time now. It was not too long before Sue stopped being the 50's era wife with powers and became the juggernaut of the team." Classic as in their EARLIEST showings. Assume this is just the first couple of story arcs with the teams.

Pfft! Use common sense?! Who do you think you are talking to? You might as well ask me to fly. Common sense...... Hell you might as well be talking to me in a foreign language.

I'm backing the FF for the win. Despite the more advanced training the X-men had been through by this point, the FF were quick learners and their abilities were greater.

That is true Creator. One full optic blast from Cyclops was powerful but it would literally drop Cyclops to do it, Jean had to focus to float a chair across the room and had no telepathy, Iceman was just a kid covered in snow and could throw snowballs, Angel was next to useless, and Beast was pretty much the best on the team.... Beast.

Iceman could do more than just throw iceballs

They were snowballs! And yeah you are right. Iceman "refined" his power by about the 3rd issue or some such so he was a boy covered in ice rather than snow and he started using ice powers to do a greater range of things like making ice barriers and the like.
You are killing my buzz k4tz.

Classic with moras? No way. She has the best defense here and offense here. The only way she doesn't solo is if classic Jean is a match for her and I don't believe she is.The F4 are a really tough match up for the original X-men.

I don't remember her being nearly as powerful during the classic era. (powerful enough to even come close to soloing)

Classic Cyclops was able to punch a hole in Magneto's barriers in the first issue (it knocked him out for a few minutes, but he was back in the fight after that). He should be able to do the same to classic Sue. The classic X-men were excellent at working as a team. If one of them was in danger than one of the others would intervene to help out. I think they can win this.
