Beast wins on account of being the lesser pushover of the two. I don't believe it would be an easy victory for Beast (on account of when he does win, that is...Let's get a debate going, lol).

Pretty sure we debated this before, and came to an amiable conclusion.
Normally, Beast shouldn't be able to win more than 1-2/10, if Scorpion was written up to standard; standard that should, for all intends and purposes, render him superior to the wall crawler. But that is not to be, therefore Beast can edge out wins.

But really, the good battles Parker wins over Gargan are through essentially speed blitzing him and not holding back. I have no issue with those victories what-so-ever. The problem is the 3 times or so when writers used Scorpion and a third-rate villain in a bigger story, and they literally had him one-shotted or something along those lines. For example, when he got the dagger of his tail stuck in a tree, and he focused on that, obvlivious to Spider-Man, who then uppercutted him. Somehow I doubt a 15 ton individual would have such an issue with such a skinny tree, lol. He hasn't had a victory in 34,391,065 issues, but I believe he's capable of being a good match for Beast. Like you said, we, for the most part, reached an agreement last time, so I won't continue unless you want me to, sugar.

The only real advantages in Beast's favor are his agility, and the fact that he is actually intelligent (even though not extremely tactically brilliant in combat), as opposed to Gargan being casually written as more of an idiot than a ton of bricks.
Gargan hasn't had a ictory over Spider-Man since 1976, I believe. When he became Venom, things got worse before they got better.
Hopefully, Slott will finally manage to turn him into a credible threat.

Hopefully, Slott will finally manage to turn him into a credible threat. I agree on every point. However, despite not winning, he's still had a few...fair....showings along the way (it's sad to think one of his best showings is actually VS Cardiac for post-classic era). Beast's two advantages (agility, intellect) are why I believe he has the potential to eventually take down Gargan (hit and run tactics, likely), however, a tag or two in return by Gargan could easily turn the tide.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
Pretty sure Beast would take a solid majority if Whedon was writing. He was one of the few writers that gave Beast attention, both as a character, and as a powerful street leveler.

If Gargan was written properly, I believe he could win this without very much difficulty, but as it stands, Beast should take the majority, albeit with difficulty.

Their sewer fight was also quite brutal, but IIRC, Gargan didn't even want to continue being Scorpion at that point. That character development was ignored, just like Shocker's massive upgrade. lol Whedon's Beast is, for lack of better words, a beast.

Speaking of Shocker, I need to make a good battle for him. Gambit might even be a good option, TBH.

I need to go back and reread those issues to be certain, but it left a sour taste to my mouth concerning his efficiency as a villain.
Indeed. The Doctor enjoyed the respect he deserves. But, really, aside from Logan, all of Whedon's X-Men had great feats.

Shocker is fairly underrated, in my opinion. We're in agreement on that. *cough*favorite non-jedi/sith thread*cough* Morph, unfortunately during that era of Spider-Man (pre/early clone saga), Scorpion was written as a total joke.

Agreed.
Then again, Mark Waid having Spider-Man one-shot him with a kick, and also having him expel electricity (!) from his gauntlets, didn't exactly improve the situation.

And the same kick took out Tombstone... How do editors let that pass? Silver, I agree with you regarding Scorpion. I love his classic showings (proud to say I own the first appearance ;D too )
