The rival Xavier link does not work and it is not an accurate statement anyway.

You should update the OP with additions and new links, not make a new post.

Proof that she is not in Charles Xavier's league. Nova tells her what her place is and Emma does not say squat because she knows it is true. I am all for respect threads but lets try and keep the respect threads accurate.

I am all for respect threads but lets try and keep the respect threads accurate. The link works for me and If Emma is constantly considered top material (2 links and another that says she rivals charles), I see no reason to say it shouldn't be here. BTW, using Nova as a measuring tool is unfair as she is far superior to Charles and Emma (individually and put together) As she showed during NXM.

@jet: I made the comment about the link being broken a month ago. It has been fixed since then. Also, Emma is only considered the most powerful in the world when Xavier, Jean, Rachel, Quire and X-Man are not being considered. Everyone listed is more powerful than Emma. Furthermore the 3 in 1 are powerful enough to match her. Exodus can match her. All of whom fall like leaves in the wind to Xavier. She is not anywhere in Xavier's league and she admits as much herself. One more thing, Nova is not more powerful than Xavier. She is exactly the same level of power as Xavier because her body was made from Xavier's cells. But to clear it all up, here are how all her fights with Charles went down: New X-Men 114 - Nova surprise attacked Charles through Cerebra and still did not beat him. Jean interrupted the fight. New X-Men 116 - Nova overpowered Charles by using Cerebra against him. New X-Men 126 - Charles overpowered Nova when she used Cerebra to connect to every human on the planet and inadvertently unified Charles' mind. His attack disembodied her.

My point is, that if it stated several times, then I see no reason that it can't be in the respect thread. The point of one is show the highlights of what the character has done or what has been said about them, not to have a full understanding of how they compare to others. If the reader wants to know more, they can read comics.

Well my understanding of a respect thread is that the point of a respect thread is to give an accurate idea of a character, not to fanwank.
People see that she is given improper credit and they go to debates with incorrect information and then get their arguments crushed and be made to look like fools to boot.

My idea is to respect the characters by showing their high points, not to have a full understanding of the character. That only comes by reading the actual comics, which these threads try to spark interest in. IF a person is looking to a respect thread to make an arguement, they shouldn't be argueing in the first place. The only time you should debate a character, is if you have read the issues they appear in.

I strongly disagree. A respect thread is not a fanwank thread. A respect thread gives us reason to respect the character, so that does include high points. But it should also give people the general idea of what the character is actually capable of. I sure do not only debate on characters I am knowledgeable on and I know you do not either so do not try to give me that line about only debating characters that you know.
But let us say for a moment that you are right, respect threads are only to fanwank. Does fanwanking include fallacies and hyperbole? I say fuck no.

So you are saying a general idea of a character is knowing how they stack up against other characters and being able to prove that? I disagree. A general Idea is a GENERAL grasp on their personality, origin, some feats, and powerset. SoS does that, so see no reason to nitpick at his feats. That wasn't directed at you, erik. It was directed at someone else who would do such, in a hypothetical situation. If it is stated several times, but contradicted other times, then I see no reason to keep from posting them. The feats are up to the individual thread maker to decide, as we shouldn't go into every thread and make sure they put the right feats up. It is their thread, so they should have some freedom with it. Also, I would put a hyperbole in, but would also state that it's a hyperbole.

I do not have a problem with the respect thread. I have a problem with scans that are not accurate and thus to not do justice to the character.
