Apparently, it needed to be in the central power battery, not recharge lanterns of individual GLs.
Can't say I like this development. It essentially reduces the story in a mind control drama on a massive scale.

Well then it was in the battery for hundreds/thousands of years and did'nt do something like this.and you're right about the overused mind control explanation. kyle and john fought only for a few panels and ganthet broke them up,so much for finding out who's the best.

Yes, you'd gather it would have happened before since the impurity affected the rings for as long as it did, but I suppose it is something we just let slide for the sake of the plot.
I haven't read # GLC # 58, yet. I fear Kyle is going to bite it at the end of this storyarc.

I was reading Superman/Batman #81 the other day and it had a preview of the War of Green Lanterns in it. Among other things mentioned, they also mentioned something about Hal Jordan's instability. I was just curious. Were they referring to Jordan's whole history like the Parallax incident or is he starting to losing it in the recent stories?

They're talking about Hal running around with other colored lanterns against their orders. That's as far as I can figure, because he isn't starting to lose it at all. His personality (or lack thereof) is absolutely the same as always.

Just read the first 3 chapters of War of the Green Lanterns and thought it was pretty good.

I am actually pretty excited about the WGL. The story so far is pretty interesting. Hal hasn't really changed, but the fight that he and Guy had in Emerald Warriors was pretty epic (despite the fact Hal got his ass whooped).

Sinestro looks awesome in the GLC book.

War of Green Lanterns still fails on the point that IT'S NOT A FREAKING WAR!!! It's Green Lantern corps being brainwashed and the few immune lanterns having to bring them back to their senses. That's not a war in any sense of the word. That's Tuesday in comic books.
Barring that bit of false advertisement (not to mention the god awful set-up. Really guys? Brainwash the whole corps? You couldn't think of anything actually thought provoking) I don't think WoGL is actually bad. It's interesting so far, I'm intrigued as to how the characters are going to pull it off, and Hal finally showed a bit of character (The fact that he did it under the influence of an alien psychic bug and not even in his own book should tell you how low he's fallen).
I still think GLC is the best GL book so far.

I agree the title is a bit misleading and the whole "Parallax controls you" is a cheap way to create the turmoil within the GLC.
However, I thoroughly enjoyed the first 3 issues and can't wait for the next chapter.

Alright, I'm not familiar with GL and I've just been wondering something:
I know there is supposed to be an entity that represents each emotional spectrum. I know that at least two have been revealed so far, Parallax for yellow, and The Butcher for red. My question is, have there been any other entities revealed?

ckal yes, they were all revealed in Blackest Night and most before then. Green (Will) - Ion Yellow (Fear) - Parallax Red (Rage) - The Butcher Blue (Hope) - Adara Purple (Compassion) - Proselyte Orange (Greed) - Ophidian Pink (Love) - The Predator White (Life) - The Entity Arguably Nekron was the embodiment of death, though he isn't typically counted among the emotional embodiments.

Oh wow Ok I wasn't aware, except Ion, I remember Ion. Have any of them fought each other? Is one supposed to be the most powerful?

I don't believe any of them have fought each other directly ckal.

jake- Hmm, ok. I think that would be cool to see. I did skim over the issue where The Butcher fights the Spectre, though.

Might still happen. The remaining Guardians have been possessed by the entities.

So he's been a Green Lantern, Red Lantern, Blue Lantern now he's going to become a Yellow Lantern. Getting predictable now.

He first used a Sinestro Corps ring long before the blue, red, white ones.
