This movie is going to have a hard time beating TDK in the box office... there was a lot of controversy surrounding the last movie.... that doesn't mean that this movie wont be as good or better.... remember all 3 movies are one story... this one should tie it all together.. Im telling you though seeing as how this is Nolan's last batman movie... i hope he does something crazy like ending the movie with bane snapping batmans back... hero movies don't end like that... it would stir up a lot of crap and surprise a lot of people who are not familiar with the comic books. end the movie with bruce in a coma or something... just cut it off right there.. I'm telling you people would flip. A Batman vs Bane movie where Bane wins in the end? I'd totally watch that.

If the movie ends with Bane breaking Batman it would totally be awesome.

I can get behind that. however something tells me Nolan will have a more uplifting resolution to his franchise lol.

It won't matter DC's retconing Nolan's batman. So they can do a JLA movie.

I can get behind that. however something tells me Nolan will have a more uplifting resolution to his franchise lol. Based on Nolan's other movies I have to disagree with that... he usually leaves stuff up to interpretation... and its usually not exactly what I would call uplifting... that is also usually left up to interpretation I think ending with batman in a coma fits the nolan bill pretty well.... he is not dead... but not really alive in any useful way... the viewer pretty much has to decide where they think things go from there.... that is how most nolan projects end.

It won't matter DC's retconing Nolan's batman. So they can do a JLA movie. It has never been stated under any official circumstances that WB is going to reboot batman when nolan is finished.....her is what was said OK... reinventing does not mean rebooting.... and they specifically say that they will have conversations with nolan about the next phase. this indicates to me that it will be a new phase in the batman story but not necessarily a whole new universe.. There will be a new director and a different phase in batman's life.... so they will have to reinvent the franchise to make it work.... that doesn't mean reboot... and I think that the fact that nolan is staying on as producer supports my opinion. I think this is just another case of words getting distorted.

@dii:
I thought DC said that JLA will not be movie canon to Superman or Batman movies.

Considering Nolan's Batmanverse has no Martians, Superman, or even a Robin, it's a safe bet you won't see Bale's Batman in a JLA movie, which I think makes the movie already better off. Nolan's Batman isn't smart enough to be the JLA Batman.

Nolan's Batman hasn't been that great to me so far.Hopefully this next one is as good as people say the first two were.

Yeah, I added the article to the off topic thready yesterday. I'm hoping it'll be a smaller role or a flashback. I liked him, but the film is crowded as is.

Sorry. I was super busy yesterday. So I missed a lot of things going on yesterday, especially the role of Jor-El being casted by Russell Crowe.

I think it'll be a short role. Him getting to the Lazarus pit and becoming the younger version.

I think it'll be a short role. Him getting to the Lazarus pit and becoming the younger version. I don't really think so. That would serve no purpose than to possibly set up the plot for the next movie, and Nolan has made it pretty clear there will be NO next movie, at least not with him in the lead. Also, Russel Crowe as Jor-El? WHUT???

I think he means Russell Crowe was cast as Jor-El. I don't think Russell Crowe is the Casting Director for the film.

I think he means Russell Crowe was cast as Jor-El. I don't think Russell Crowe is the Casting Director for the film. My "what the deuce" was directed at the thought of him being casted as Jor-El, although I guess that would be equally "What the Deuce?" and a bit confusing based off what I underlined.
