But while I am on that note, she is very likable in that I would hate to see her go. Everyone is so well written in just a short time (67 issues). So much development. I know more about all of the cast now on a personal level than I ever have.

I'm just reading Nation X - X Factor. Shatterstar and Madrox are full of LOLs.
Also, no way can Layla not have precognitive powers and talk to Longshot the way she did.

I don't want to see Monet go (nor are there any plans for a potential departure, either), just saying that while I like her (not referring to physical characteristics), I prefer Madrox, Guido, Layla, and Shatterstar to her. The comment about likeing pretty much the whole team over her is exaggeration on my part.
@ Phantom - To which example are you referring to? I read the issues so fast, I can't distinguish details.
And yeah, Madrox and Shatterstar are scene stealers during Nation X.

I just figured her memories of every event are extensive. Even she says "be sure to remember it all so we get this right". I take all of her appearances with some suspense of disbelief.

No, she's had direct memories of Longshot's vision. The only way she could learn about it is if someone told her, and I don't care how well you describe something, there is no way she could have looked directly at him and talk to him based on that alone. If future memories is indeed her only explanation, consider my suspension well and truly shattered.

Since you've read up to # 50 (and more), you know as well as I do what explanation was provided about the origin of her precognition, and what her actual power is (resurrection). In combination with sorcery skills and equipment she acquired from Doom, recently.
Other than that, I simply try not to give it much thought, because finding points where she couldn't rely strictly on memory or execute her movements flawlessly isn't extremely difficult.

Yeah, but that's a problem, because it's really not that difficult to pull it off either, and I have a hard time David would just be like "LOL Whatever" about it.

The reason why she knew what to say is because she already said it.

That sounds pretty wonky to me. She would have had to figure out how and what to say at some point, and there is literally no way she could have known that without some precognitive ability.

The way I look at it:
Layla knows Madrox will ask Longshot to use his powers to trace the Invisible Woman. Therefore, after Sue's departure from the fantasticar, she basically choreographs the whole thing, synchronising, and building on the knowledge of what Longshot is going to say, and do. She doesn't enter his vision in real time, she simply acts in the past, and influences the future. At some points she doesn't even seem to react, or watch Longshot directly (since that was mentioned above), she simply acts on things she knows he will react to.
Is it a stretch? Absolutely, but almost everything she does is.

Monet has arguably the most powerful power set next to Darwin. She is invulnerable, super senses, has strength, speed, healing, flight and is a decent telepath. Jamie also has an extremely dangerous power. While he is completely human, he seems to have an extremely high amount of dupes he can make. Technically issue 50 volume 3 was really issue 199 of the overall X-Factor series. That was why they jumped from issue 50 to the 200 and continued on from there.

@drizzt: Thanks. And yeah the characters do have a pretty cool power set but I like how they are not powers exclusive too. Rictor has no powers at all. He was one of the affected mutants from M-Day and Layla Miller is an anomaly unto herself.
@everyone: I am actually curious what Monet's upper limits are for her invulnerability. She only has low level super strength but she has taken full hits from Hulk, She-Hulk and several others without pain.
The only things I have seen hurt her are electricity and chemicals but those do not count as they have nothing to do with durability.

How do Monet's powers work anyway? She's super strong, invulnerable, can fly... and is a telepath? Quite a combo platter of power.

Monet has been dropped by bullets during this volume, albeit for a very short while, and she was only complaining they torned up her blouse afterwards.
Her handbook entry lists her as a 5 in durability. She can take a few hits from heavy hitters, but she isn't extremely high up.
