Thanks Nexus. Maybe i was exaggerating a bit with spidey, but the fact is that i'm not as knowledgeable on him as a few other users in this site. =] Doesn't mean you're not an expert

Thanks Nexus. Maybe i was exaggerating a bit with spidey, but the fact is that i'm not as knowledgeable on him as a few other users in this site. =] Doesn't mean you're not an expert For example, obviously I've been collecting comics for longer than any two ledgerites. This is the first comic I ever bought www.comicvine.com/weird-war-tales-/37-12467/ and that was after a neighbor had let me read several of his tales form the crypt and weird war when I was younger. There are characters and teams that I have more comics of than many others, but am not an expert on. For Example I have the first 200+ issues of Avengers Vol 1 and around the same of JLA. That doesn't make be an expert on either because I'm not 100% up to date on either team. In battle forums (on all forum sites) it's generally accepted that it's current version unless stated otherwise. If you can site enough example why a character can do something within current stats, than simply having more information doesn't make the argument any better. The characters that I've listed as being "expert" on are the ones that I'm 100% up to date with, and any gaps in my knowledge on them is small at best. I could add almost the entire JSA membership, but there are too many gaps (as in appearances I haven't seen) of each. I could add Suicide Squad, but I missed half the last mini (I really hate my LCS some times)

So you have been collecting since 1971 or was your first purchase a back issue?

I don't think it was a back issue, it was in a newsagent (they usually sent anything not purchased back after a few months). IIRC I was about 13/14 at the time (born 59 you do the math). Oh Down under we were also usually a little behind on releases back then so we might have gotten it a year or so later than in the US.

I should point out the first 110 JLA issues I bought and the first 98 Avengers were from markdown bins in book exchanges after their original release.

Yes serious, though still a kid at heart. Though I wish I were a decade younger, because I didn't start a family until 6 years ago (so I probably wont be around to see my grand kids). My younger sister (by more than a few years) has three kids her youngest is about to finish school.
Out of curiosity, how did you all think I knew so much about the GA and SA. No I wasn't here to buy them new but there were a lot more around it swap shops etc when i started collecting comics

I no longer fit the early twenties demographic anymore.

The only ones i would consider to be an expert at are: Predator Deadpool
This is because i would only think of myself as an expert if i have read every issue of a comic about said character.
