Be fair now, you've heard worse arguments.

Darkseid, one shot, son. Shhh ur excuses is all I'll say about the rest. You don't turn your back to Darkseid. No seriously, just look at this art: He's wearing a cape and flying through the air for crying out loud. I'm sure this was a oneshot story and i don't recall Darkseid getting any power up.

What are you talking about? It's self-evident that the cape is a huge power-up.

I'm sure this was a oneshot story and i don't recall Darkseid getting any power up. It acts stand alone, but it's part of the return of the New Gods relaunch, and a couple of pages earlier Darkseid mentions that he merged his omega force with the Anti-Life equation.

Overlooking the fact that the statement makes 0 sense (how the hell do you merge the ALE with anything?) Darkseid isn't using any omega force (presuming it's a variation of the OB/OE trope ) in that scan. He just beats the hell out of Highfather with his fists.

Those two energy beams I'm sure were added in post-production.

Because Highfather was dominating until that point, no?

Se why I didn't want to have Darkseid fight an old man? ;D
Though, to be fair, there is some wiggle room allowed since both ALE and OF were pretty badly defined at the time. Apparently Jim Starlin wasn't the only one in his belief that the ALE is simply a giant power up token...
As for the Omega Force, it is not just Darkseid's ability to shoot bendy beams out of his eyes, but basically it is everything that makes Darkseid what he is, his strength included. When he's drained of it in Superman/Batman (yes, the infamous stairs issue), he is very much physically weakened as well.

I understand. It's why I didn't really comment on him shooting energy blasts from his hands, since plenty of characters (even more so cosmic ones) were doing things back then that were slowly eliminated from their repertoire. I just think that, in retrospect, combining his own power with the ALE is silly as a means to supposedly power himself up.
Thanks for clarifying on that.
