Sony's got a pretty good well of characters to mine. They're just nowhere near as recognizable, I don't think, as Nintendo's crew. Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper/his crew, Nathan Drake, Kratos, Cole from Infamous, Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal, the dudes from Resistance and Killzone, uh, uhm, some older Final Fantasy folks? Probably Cloud and Squall and maybe some guys from Kingdom Hearts (although a few of those have been on Nintendo consoles). They could probably get away with some Tekken folk since I think that franchise is still primarily thought of as one that belongs on a Sony console. Same thing with Dante from Devil May Cry.
It'd just be pretty crazy, getting the rights to all these technically third party characters, but hey, if they got em in the ad maybe they could get em for a game.

There aren't really any "Sony characters", at least not in the way there are Nintendo Characters.
Still I'm sure owners of whatever console this comes out on will be happy.
