I have transcended form and the notion of rock music is too confining for a being of my enlightenment.

I find the label 'Rock' to be highly ambiguous so I'll just throw down my 10 Fav. bands that aren't specifically a different genre.
In no order.
The Smiths Arctic Monkeys The Beatles Led Zeppelin Metallica The Pixies Muse In Flames At The Drive-In The Cure
Honorable Mentions: Radiohead, Nightwish, Queen, Journey, Pink Floyd, The Misfits, Iron Maiden, Rage Against the Machine, We Are Scientists, Glassjaw, Powderfinger, Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, APC.

Have you checked out In Flames' latest CD yet?
Man, a bunch of my buddies from home love Glassjaw, but I could never get into them.

Glassjaw aren't easy to pick up. But they are a pretty solid band. At the Drive-In and Thursday are along similar lines.
