Mel Gibson not on anyones lists? Hugh Jackman is an Aussie, however his parents are English. Yeah but Mel wasn't born an Aussie, he's American by birth with dual citizenship. Plus Russel Crowe is a Kiwi. Jackman by comparison has a wider a array of talent. Like most of my other favorites from the 40's ( who had to work their way up through broadway or vordewille . They could sing dance play an instrument as well as act. Bogart could play piano sing( monotone), Cagney was a song & dance man. All with the exception of maybe McQueen could play a wide variety of rolls Jackman fits with this group

Bogart that is. I actually like Russell Crowe. He likes England more than most Aussies. I know he's from New Zealand. I'm just pointing that out because more people, not Aussies think he's Aussie.

Another reason for hating him is he always seems to go against England. Another example is Patriot. Why I wanted him to die painfully.

Your hate can be justified as in many cases with his movies, when he portrayed whoever was fighting against the English as heroes when it can be argued by historical experts that he was actually the villain. The figure his character in the Patriot is based on for example was actually a slave owner, seller and proud of it along with being a wife beater, rapist and Amerindian mass murderer. and at the time of the war, the English were actually at the front of the trend that led to slavery being abolished, in fact England was one of the first, if not the first western nation to abolish slavery and consider black people equals under the law while America was one of the last (the last being Brazil)

Supreme Marvel@ Yeah it's hard to beat Bogart as an actor especially with his versatility. Whether it's portraying a mad captain inthe Caine Mutiny, a reluctant hero (from rogue) in Sirroco, Casablanca, to have and have not. A shrewd operator in big sleep. Unsung hero in Left hand of God, Across the Pacific. Or down on his luck needs a break - Harder they fall, treasure sierra madre. Or desperate criminal - in 2 many to name The man was awesome

Oh and on the Aussies not liking poms, it might look that way but it's really just the anti "tall poppy syndrome " of Aussie culture. Due to our convict heritage ( almost all of the convicts sent to "Van demons land" were minor offences of theft to feed family in the industrial revolution ), Aussie culture is built around knocking those we see getting it easier or better ( including our friends or selves). Visit any Aussie pub and you'll hear most true blue Aussies giving "abo's" the "micky" if another nationality tried to denigrate the same aboriginals in the presence of said Aussie they'd get their head (block) knocked off. You'll find the same is the case for Kiwis ( New Zealanders), poms (English) and ceptics/yanks. We rip it up our mates the most, until someone less a mate rips them.

Christopher Lee is pretty epic. I recently saw one of the old Hammer Dracula flicks, with Christopher Lee as Dracula. Dude was awesome.

Am I the only person here who likes Jim Carey? (This does not include his role as Riddler, as it was a joke.)

Good, fun comedy Dumb and Dumber missed for me, as I didn't enjoy it all that much. I loved Bruce Almighty though.
