So far each Marvel Studios movie has had a cameo to help build up for "The Avengers," and it looks like Clint Barton fans now have a reason to celebrate. The accurate archer, played by Jeremy Renner ("Hurt Locker", "28 Weeks Later") will debut in Kenneth Branagh's "Thor". Thor hits theaters May 6th, and Barton will also be in "The Avengers" which is slated for a May 4, 2012 release. What do you guys think Barton's role will be? The trailer already revealed SHIELD is a part of the movie (and Nick Fury is confirmed as NOT making a cameo in the film), so perhaps they're taking the Ultimate angle and Barton works as an agent for Fury's organization. What do you guys think? Source: www.thewrap.com/deal-central/column-post/exclusive-jeremy-renners-hawkeye-will-cameo-thor-23531?_r=true

We'll see a guy with a bow and arrows at the background of one scene, for about 10 seconds, and that will be baptised "Hawkeye cameo".
Color me uninterested.

Color me uninterested. I don't believe so, otherwise that would be considered an "easter egg." So far cameo roles have had SOME part, such as Fury in IM1, Stark in Hulk, Fury again in IM2 (and Thor's hammer). Where-as the easter eggs were just seeing Cap's shield in the IM movies, and Cap in the ice in The Incredible Hulk. We know Thor is in the shield facility for some time and eventually breaks out, so I wonder if actor Clark Gregg will have a brief convo with Barton or something along those lines. Or maybe if we're lucky, Thor will one-shot him during his escape

Fury and Tony appeared after the credits rolled, both in Iron Man, and Incredible Hulk, respectively. Most people never got to watch those scenes in the theatre unless they knew they'd happen. It's not like either character was integrated in the film in any way that was essential during viewing. As a result, Fury was already established when he appeared in Iron Man 2. You may as well call both scenes "easter eggs" too, considering their placement.
I do hope they base Hawkeye off his Ultimate counterpart, though.

I think any real fan of the character stays after the credits, fully aware there's a post-credits scene, though. When I saw both films, the majority of the theater waited for the post credit scenes. I suppose that's a good thing, because the "general audience" might just complain the film is too 'clustered' like they did with Iron Man because of Fury/Black Widow ZOMG, SUCH A COMPLEX PLOT! lol I suppose we'll find out when we see it (assuming you have a movie theater within 5 days travel) Personally, I'd like the Ultimate approach (already working for shield, plus the costume will work on screen).

In Greece, the credits never roll in full.
Extra scenes be damned.

(IF THIS IS ACTUALLY TRUE)Recently, a report came out from someone who appaently works with Marvel Studios who was at a small screening of a cut of the movie. Apparently his job is to gauge audience reaction or something. I don't remember all the details. But he came out with some 'spoilers' and plot points for 'Thor' after he watched it. This guy obviously isn't much of a Thor fan, or a comics fan in general since he had a clear lack of knowledge in some areas. He stated the he "couldn't remember whether or not Hawkeye made a cameo."Sounds strange to me. HERE is the article.

Yeah, I put the source which states that if anyone wanted more info There have been mixed messages, especially from Renner so far. But so far each Marvel Studios film has had a cameo to help promote an upcoming movie, so I guess we'll find out soon enough.
