I don't like the powersets.I was looking for some innovation.I also don't like the fact that canned initiative for that book because it's awful in comparison.

I wouldn't say that. I mean, with it having the same writer as the last issues of Initiative, it really feels like a continuation of it, at least in concept. It's just focusing on different characters in a different, less Dark Reign-y setting.
Speaking of Initiative and Academy I thought it was so cool seeing Cloud 9 turn down Steve to teach at the Academy to do "anything she wants." That was the perfect ending to a great character. I kinda don't want that to be messed with in any way, but at the same time, I kinda wanna see her back in action, or at least around somewhere, maybe in someone else's book.

Cloud 9 was a great character.
In fact, Inititative produced a lot of great character. Trauma, Hardball, Komodo, Cloud 9, and others are just awesome.
Academy was pretty good from when I last read. I'm not up to date though.

I think Initiative was better because Slott is a superior writer to Cage.He knows how to write team books. It's just that simple. His Mighty Avengers was amazing and his Initiative was just as good.I can't really get in to Academy..I just can't, not when that whole team has basically been sent to limbo for a team that isn't better quality.Hazmat? Are they joking with that character design? Who the hell wants a female version of Radioactive Man?

It seems to me that you're primary complaint is with the characters instead of the quality. Both Slott and Gage wrote on Initiative until Dark Reign started. Then Slott took over Mighty and Gage continued with Initiative on his own. As far as quality wise, there wasn't much of a difference with that transition so I don't see how Slott was really superior than Gage when it came to that.
With Academy we still have that same quality of writing as the latter days of Initiative. Again, the only difference is with the characters, and I really think you're being a little hard on them simply because they're the ones who replaced the Initiative characters, but if I recall correctly, a lot of the Initiative characters were swapped out with each other a lot of times anyway.

I also feel Secret Avengers became stale after a few issues, normally I'm a sucker for martial art stories and the almost-street-level team seemed a good interaction but I'm not enjoying it as much as I thought I would.
Avengers Academy continues to be a fine read, as said above, the main issue would be if you find the characters bland but most of them have been somewhat likeable at least in some level, it reminds me a bit of -low end- Runaways and Young Avengers. Still, the concept works "Young Thunderbolts" or Young Brotherhood is a variation that was worth seeing.
I'm rooting for AA thanks to the solicits since some crazy stuff seems to be coming around.

Anyone checked out the new Avengers cartoon? Caught a few minutes earlier and it looked pretty good. Of course Chris Yost is the editor on it.

The episode I saw had Hawkeye, Black Widow & T'Challa so it kept my attention.

I also like the Avengers show quite a lot, it's very close to the comic where it counts, it has a huge cast of Marvel characters and many easter eggs lying around. The characters are quite under developped though, but such thing happens when you adapt team books into the screen.

I'm actually downloading it as the episodes are released.I don't know yet how I feel about it.It's definitely a step up from Superhero Squad and the first Avengers cartoon.
