Firestorm was there because it's a crossover with Brightest Day, but otherwise, yeah, there was no real point to him.

I think am a bit behind on my comic readings of late. However I bought today: I, Zombie (read on the train back home), Action Comics 849; 852, Superman 675; 676, Shazam! #1, Superboy 1-3 and Countdown to Mystery 8.

I'm going to start Green Lantern, what's a good jumping point? I think am a bit behind on my comic readings of late. However I bought today: I, Zombie ( read on the train back home), Action Comics 849; 852, Superman 675; 676, Shazam! #1, Superboy 1-3 and Countdown to Mystery 8. Superboy is badass

Really hard to tell, concerning a jumping on point. Green Lantern really is a series that each arc practically derives from the previous one. I guess reading a basic synopsis for Blackest Night and then beginning with GL # 53 (first issue of the New Guardians arc) would be the best option, but, still, if you have no experience with all the different colored Corps' running rampant, it could be confusing.

A good jumping point would be Green Lantern: Rebirth.

I don't mind starting from the beginning of the series, if it's really worth it.

A good jumping point would be Green Lantern: Rebirth. Bastard. I don't mind starting from the beginning of the series, if it's really worth it. Overall, yes, it's definitely worth it.

I'm rather bemused by it, but then again, I'm satisfied by the panel time Sinestro gets so far in both GL, and GLC, so I won't burn down the DC offices...yet.

@ LB - I'm thinking less than. There's only so much you can do with Red Lanterns. But who knows, maybe we'll be proven wrong. Who could have thought one of the biggest events DC had in years would be pretty much Lantern based with Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman taking the back seat, a few years back?

Well i guess johns for all his faults at the very least does deserve the credit for making characters outside the trinity relevant.

Kyle has always been my personal favorite. That's because he's a better character than Hal. And so is Guy, Hannu, Salaak, Kilowog and many more.

I just finished #6, it reminds me a lot of Star Wars. I think I'll check out GLC next.

I just picked up the war issue, thought long and hard and decided to go for lantern after seeing the spoilers of streets of gotham which did'nt impress me and hence i skipped it.
I'd like to know why the hell did'nt parallax posses the 4 earth lanterns when it was in their batteries after SCW?am i missing something or is this another geoffcon?
