I see no problem. What happened back with Thanos' mini-series was cool. He got developed. He moved away from Death. Tried to get over her. Then in Annihilation he died. He got reunited with Death, and he was happy. It should go without saying that he didn't really get over her, just tried to move on, but when the option came to be with her, he was fine with doing it. He was happy. Then he came back, torn away from the lady of his life/afterlife. He wanted to know why. Figured there was a reason for it, so he went along with it. Thanos Imperative happened. And another universe gets killed. In the scan you posted, Death says she actually has desires past her essence. Death is all she is. Of course she'd want something more than that. So it shouldn't be a surprise that after Thanos gave her more death, she'd be less interested.
"Is not you, is me. We have grown apart. I think we should beink to see other peoples," as Cosmo puts it. Classic love story kinda thing. The guy's trying to buy his way to the girl's heart by giving her everything he thinks she wants, but not the one thing she really wants. Whatever that is. I dunno, girls are weird.
That's just how I saw the whole thing play out. Like I said, it was pretty cool. I enjoyed the mess outta it, and can't wait to see what happens next.

Tried, and then she showed she had feelings for him and made him understand his approach was erroneous. So, yes, Thanos shouting "I'll kill another universe" in the Thanos Imperative despite the fact that she told him that is not what she craves for, is very much a problem.
You do realise you contradict yourself as much as the scans contradict one another with that last statement, right?

I'm not really seeing a contradiction as much as a statement of what happened. Thanos wanting to kill a universe is the thing that she didn't want. That much I gather, but he gave it to her. And that's why she turned away. Are we good on that?

And not good with Death banishing Thanos from her realm and generally ignoring him when she clearly showed affection towards him before, and during Annihilation, where they seemed to find solace with one another.

Well, I can't really say I know what the writers were thinking, but from what I gather from it all, Thanos had to come back. There was a universe without death infecting another universe like a cancer. Thanos comes back to put an end to that universe. It kinda seems like he's destined to destroy it, because that's kinda his MO. He brings death to universes in order to please Death, so if I were in his shoes, I'd kinda be confused about it too. Why would Death allow him to be brought back if he wasn't supposed to do what he did? So he probably figured that Death wanted that universe gone in spite of that talk they had. The Cancerverse banned her from being there altogether, so why not take vengeance on it for that reason alone? Bottom line, Thanos felt that he was giving Death what she wanted. He fixed the problem, and figured he could come home and be welcomed and loved for that.
But Death said no, and we already covered why that was.

Thanos could simply view it the same way we do. A day at the office. He killed the Cancerverse because it had to be done. What I object to is him justifying his action as a way for Death to accept him. She rejected him from her domain, as we learn after Thanos got incinerated by Drax, for reasons unknown.
I call the unknown reasons plot, and character derailment. I leave it there because I really liked the event, but I just feel Thanos got robbed as a character.

Well, viewing it as a day in the office, he got rejected from her domain because the job wasn't done, but I get where you're coming from. Yeah, Thanos definitely got the short end of the stick. No doubt about that. I just figure that the reason's because from my own personal experience, girls are weird, and they like doin' weird stuff just to be weird not so much as Thanos getting derailed. He acted like how I expected he would act.

Oh, I can see what you're saying about Death, but I thought they had already gone through the phase where she acted strangely and Thanos could not really grasp what she wanted, or what the problem was.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did, but for the purpose of the plot, it happened here, too.

What Thanos was doing was out of desperation and confusion of love. He loves Death. And when she finally appeared by his side again, she didn't say a word to him. He was so desperate to be with her, he will obviously say and do anything for it to happen. It is also obviously a confusing situation. What Cosmo said may have been hitting the nail on the head. Also, sometimes guys just don't listen, and sometimes females are hard to please the way they want. Females and relationships can be very confusing and strenuous. I think what Thanos was going through is very relate able to many people. It is basic emotion bubbling over the edge. I thought it was a very emotional and heart felt ending and I can understand what he did. All he wanted to do was see Death again, and be with her, so he would do anything, even if it is something she did not necessarily want. He went crazy at the end when she didn't even respond to him. I would've went nuts too.

A minor detail, but I did love how Lord Marvel confirms that Shuma-Gorath is one of his many angled gods.

Thanos also listened to what Death had to say and acknowledged it at the end of their exchange ("Good to know"). So, he knows what Death likes, and what she does not like at this point.
Basically, the Thanos Imperative acts as if the whole scene, and the scene where Thanos and Death are together in Annihilation # 6 never happened.

Basically, the Thanos Imperative acts as if the whole scene, and the scene where Thanos and Death are together in Annihilation # 6 never happened. You are looking at it way too objectively and disregarding emotion. Abnett and Lanning tried to make this relate able to people in the real world. People won't always do what their knowledge tells them to. People, yes even Thanos, have feelings and emotions. Just because he knows that Death has other needs aside from death, doesn't mean he wasn't willing to do anything to see her again (that whole destroying universe thing). Which is probably why she didn't respond to him-she was probably disappointed in him. But like I said he was willing to do anything to be with her again, even though it may have been the wrong way to go about it. I know on purely a fact basis, Thanos doing the opposite of what he knows he shouldn't do seems wrong. But love is more complex than simple facts. To answer your other question, yes. I'm not sure what Devastation will entail, probably Nova and Star-Lord and Thanos, but I'm very excited. As you may already know, I love this cosmic stuff and Abnett and Lanning are fantastic. Nova is one of my favorite characters and I've really enjoyed this storyline. Any idea who long Devastation is supposed to go on for?

I understand that emotion and logic do not go hand to hand, most of the time. But even from an emotional standpoint, Thanos' frustration and attempt to see Death again originates from something unknown to us - the reason she banished him from her realm when Drax killed him earlier in the Thanos Imperative.
I was under the impression Devastation is simply a one-shot, to be honest. But I will investigate further.

I think I'm a bit confused on it though. After Drax killed Thanos in TTI, Death made Thanos the avatar of Death and sent him back which means he couldn't die and see her again (for reasons unknown to us)? Is that what that means or does that mean something different (being the avatar of Death) and she also banished him in addition. I think the former thought is correct but I just wanted to clear it up. I think you are right about Devastation being a One-Shot. I remember the ad saying it was the epilogue to TTI, so it may just be one issue.

Still, I'd look foward to see Devastation, I hope Pak makes a good follow up with many of this characters and don't just throw them away into limbo for years.
