He's just a big burley dumb guy that dukes it out with Captain Marvel sometimes. Hangs out with Black Adam, Dr. Sivana and Mr. Mind. He doesn't show up much because he's kinda two dimension and Captain Marvel hasn't done much post-crisis. I like him, though.

Yeah Cap's opposite number. gets his powers from beings of evil ( initials IBAC) thanks to a deal with the devil. Haven't seen him since 95's POS

A lot of golden age was, if not really serious, at least not kid friendly.

A lot of golden age was, if not really serious, at least not kid friendly. That was actually the reason that the GA came to it's end. It wasn't so much sales as the movement questioning the influence on minors. Many of the GA characters (without showing graphic violence) had the bad guy's ending up dying or seriously hurt. I mean in the GA for a while Batman carried a gun. In Alan Scott's origin (All American 16) there were 5 to 7 dead bodies by page 4 by page 8 a train had crashed with some of Alan's friends dead. At teh end of his story he's scared "Decker" (IIRC) to death. This was all typical Golden age type mysteryman tale.

That story was awesome, though, far better than most SA GL tales. Three times will I burn green!
