Empire Act 2: Part Four swings into high gear as we see Daken turning the businessmen of Madripoor against each other. The Good: This story arc continues to show how manipulative and devious Daken can be. His every action so far just seems delightfully evil and malicious with his opponents not being able to read him whatsoever. In this issue he turns the tables on Tyger Tiger again by making her an offer she seemingly can't refuse. He turns several of Madripoor's finest against each other in an alarming way and we also see his alliance revealed with someone from Logan's past. The art is outstanding and the new team doesn't disappoint. D'Armata and Padilla draw a beautifiul Tyger Tiger and an equally menacing Daken. The individuals arriving at the close of the next issue have me pumped for the next story arc. The Bad: My only complaint so far is the overall lack of action we've seen from Daken himself. He's been much more psychological than physical so far but I have a feeling the next arc is going to change that in a big way. Overall: 7/10 Why aren't you reading this?

Good review, Jake. I just finished #7. There has definitely been a lack of physical action on Daken's part, but he is turning out to be a master manipulator. I'm very curious to see what his endgame is going to be. I felt for a long time that they were portraying Daken as someone who just wanted to watch the world burn, now I feel like he is a man with a plan. It's going to be interesting to see what he is really up to.
I'm definitely looking forward to the Daken / X-23 Crossover that starts with the next issue of X-23.
