The "who should die?" segment continues, this time with famed X-Men leader Cyclops, and villain turned hero turned villain turned hero yet again, Magneto.
Who do you think should die and why? Be sure to address the following. -What kind of impact will their death have on the 616 Universe? -What would be a good way to kill off the character? -Why are you picking one over the other?
Keep in mind, you're pretending there's a 0% chance the character will ever return.

lol.
Because Magneto still has much potential as a villain. So not wanting to take that away. Cyclops however I just think has not been that good for the x-men series in general. So much could be improved with him gone. As I often said. So many of the X-men could do so much better by joining teams like the Avengers and such, or just going solo to give them devellopment.

Alright. Well, what do you believe is a good way to kill him off and what kind of impact do you see that having on the 616 Universe?

Magneto is not a villain anymore, he is a hero. He is done with being in the spotlight because he is old, tired and does not believe the future is his anymore. It belongs to the next generation I.E. Cyclops and his X-Men.
So I think Magneto the villain would be a character derailment from his character development.

Alright. Well, what do you believe is a good way to kill him off and what kind of impact do you see that having on the 616 Universe? In my hate filled dreams he would die in a humiliating manner such as eaten by lemmings and the impact would be the whole marvel universe pausing for a single moment to rejoice as a single voice that would be heard all the way to the Negative Zone. Realistically, him going done in a long battle against some mutant hating asshole would be appropriate. Thought given his current status as political leader, him being assassinated might lead to some interesting storylines. The impact would likely be very big, depending on where, anything from sad and mournful to galvanizing political forces either for or against mutants.

I really liked that moment where he showed some respect for Cyclops, pretty much confessing that Cyc has accomplished what he and Xavier were both striving for (in different methods, of course lol)

Assassination is plausible, but I think they'll avoid that (assuming they were to kill him off) since that's exactly how Ultimate Cyclops was killed. (sniped by Quicksilver when giving a speech)

I'd choose Magneto to die. He's just not interesting anymore now that he's no longer a villian.

I'd prefer that neither die since they're so crucial to everything X-Related.

How about K4tz dies > hrmph If I had to choose..probably Magneto, I couldn't really see any circumstance where Cyclops actually gets killed. On the other hand I could see another Asteroid-M kinda situation happening again.

That'll happen, but have no impact on the 616 Universe

I honestly think Cyclops is too important to the X-Men, and the mutant cause in general, to die. His death could potentially be catastrophic. I'd much rather see Magento die doing something heroic and selfless as a way of redemption for everything he's done.

Magneto dies while making love to Rogue. It's caused when his magnetic powers cause her powers to go haywire. She absorbs the dark aspects of his personality and becomes the X-Men's greatest enemy.

I agree and I thought that was a great sequence of events, but nothing says "redemption" like laying down your life for someone else.

I'd say Magneto. Not that I think he's gotten boring or anything, I'm really happy that as a character in the Marvel universe, he's grown, matured, learned from his mistakes, and recognizes that he and Xavier's battle was yesterday, and the mutants must fight their own battles today and tomorrow. He doesn't need to die in a flashy heroic way or anything, in fact, I'd prefer if he didn't. Just have him pass on. How many major Marvel characters have done that? Just simply died in their sleep from old age? I think that would make for a decent story, and actually impact all aspects of current mutant hood from the people who've fought alongside him, against him, and simply heard about him.

Sure he saved her and all, but he was a real d**k about it. He and the High Evolutionary sensed her inside of it as it was leaving earth, but he was just like, "Meh. I've got plans. I'll save her some time when it's more convenient for me." And it was actually a rather long time before he finally decided to do it. And when he did do it, he didn't warn anyone. He just went off by himself and left everybody else to wonder if they should be panicking that the giant bullet is flying towards the earth again.
