Warner Bros. Digital Distribution and Machinima.com today announced they have signed an agreement to premiere and distribute the highly anticipated “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” live action digital series produced by Warner Premiere. Directed by Kevin Tancharoen (“Fame”), and starring Jeri Ryan (“Star Trek: Voyager”) as “Sonya Blade,” Michael Jai White (“The Dark Knight”) as “Major Jackson ‘Jax’ Briggs” and Darren Shahlavi (“300”) as “Kano,” this series will take gamers deep into the history of the warriors they know and love.
The first action-packed episode of “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” will debut April 12 exclusively on Machinima, the dominant entertainment network for videogamers on YouTube (www.youtube.com/machinima). Fans from around the world will be able to watch and engage with the entire “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” series through Machinima’s YouTube channel.

I researched some Raiden and found out so cool stuff of what he's based upon. Raijin, pretty much the Japanese version of Thor. Doing more research and am liking a lot of what am seeing.

I heard they're going to leave out all the supernatural stuff. Now if they do, I'll be pissed off. They're going for the "Batman" style.

Eh, I'm happy to hear that. That would be too difficult to translate well for just a small web series. Keeping it grounded to Earth and translating those characters (some with tech instead) is cool. Notice when Kano held that eye that can shoot lasers? I have a feeling we'll see him get that later on |

What about him? They've showed this universe has some impressive tech (the weapons those guys were manufacturing), so I'm sure he can be a ninja with perhaps an ice bomb of some sorts, while Scorpion will have a spiked whip, I'd imagine. That's a minor point, because I'd rather just see direct hand-to-hand between them.
