THR is reporting that Josh Pence (The Social Network) has been cast to play a young Ra's Al Ghul in 'The Dark Knight Rises.' Liam Neeson portrayed the character in 'Batman Begins,' but these scenes in TDKR will obviously be flash backs. But flash backs for what? There has been talk about Marion Cotillard joining the cast as Talia Al Ghul, but nothing has been confirmed there, yet. Let the speculation begin!

I am liking it. He seems like a good fit.

Good to hear there are plans for additional al Ghul involvement in the films. I loved Neeson's portrayal of Ra's, hopefully this will be up to standards.

erik- Yeah, he looks like a younger Liam Neeson based on these pics, IMO.
Morph-
I thought he was an awesome character, one of the best parts of Batman Begins. Love Liam Neeson too.

Sounds good. Sure are going to be a lot of villains though. True, but I doubt young Ra's will be intergral to the plot. And Talia could very well be Bane's employer.

Better than the overrated joker that's for sure,Begins>>TDK but thankfully there are'nt any rabid batfans here so i dont have to worry about getting flamed.Dark knight,Year:one and Dark knight returns are the holy Grails of batmandom .

barbatos- I'll give you no trouble for knocking TDK a bit. IMO it's a good movie, nothing fantastic, but every time I see it, I realize there are more and things that just annoy me or don't make sense. But either way, it is undoubtedly one of the better comic book movies and I'm at least thankful for that.

Agreed,i watched Begins a few weeks ago along with TDK after a period of 2 years and believe me i just wanted to go to sleep while watching the latter.Only Ledger and Echart's scenes were captivating, everything else felt horribly dull in comparision. The new bike was the only redeeming factor for me.Begins had he hooked right from the start to the very end and i regret not giving it as much support as i should have back in the day.

I love both films, honestly, and while I acknowledge TDK is very likely the better film overall, that could only be possible if it is seen under the light of a direct continuation to BB, not a standalone feature (even though it does work very well in its own right, just not as well). Begins is still my favourite of the two, though.
