This is where we will discuss all things Conan related from Dark Horse comics. That means all three titles: Conan, Conan the Cimmerian and Conan Road of Kings.
I read a few issues and I actually am intrigued. The art is pretty decent and the stories appeal to me in certain ways. If I get this series, I will grab all the trades but to get me hooked, I am asking for recommended reading. Anyone have a favorite story that would make me want to go out and buy buy 7+ trade volumes?

You can look these all up, but there are also more minis and one shots:
Minis:
King Conan: The Scarlet Citadel Conan: Book of Thoth Conan and the Jewels of Gwahlur Conan and the Songs of the Dead Conan and the Demons of Khitai Conan and the Midnight God Conan the the Mad King of Gaul (continues in The Weight of the Crown one shot)
One shots:
Conan: The Weight of the Crown Conan and the Daughters of Midora Conan: The Spear (free comic book day)
I have all of these, but I can't give you my opinion because I haven't been able to read most of them yet.

Oh I see. The one I read was about this warrior lady that had black eyes. She seemed like a Red Sonja replacement (since RS is with Dynamite). It told of her origin story about how she became a super warrior by some old crone casting spells on her and throwing her into a pit with monsters that would beat and rape her every day or some such until she was able to kill them all.

The Conan series by Darkhorse is really awesome. I have a lot of favorites, like tower of the Elephant.

While we're on the subject, did anyone watch that nineties Conan kids cartoon? I recall it as one of my favorites as a kid.

I have the entire Conan series by Dark Horse (Sparda convinced me to read it) but, lazy as I am, I have yet to do so. We could organise a massive Conan reading or something.
I recall the cartoon (I watched it too) but barely anything else about plot-lines.

I was thinking about doing some Daredevil reading after I finished catching up on Invincible Iron Man, but I think I'm going to shift my focus to Conan instead.

Wow that intro is intense.
Jumping off cliffs on horses to engage a demon in sword play and sending lizard men to other dimensions what a damn bad ass.
