Nolan has a flawless track record at this point, honestly. So that's what makes it even more surprising that his mask is so unappealing. Translating Bane's mask to a more realistic version really shouldn't be a difficult task at all. So far I'm not pleased with this, but I'll wait until I see more.

Or the copy cat... As I think Nolan will play her as... Just a guess

Your only seeing a side view... And there is no context yet... Hard to judge

I'm not saying I dislike all marvel movies.... They just all seem to follow a similar formula... They all resort to a lot of the same type of humor and antics... I think the most out of the box marvel movie was that last hulk movie... That seems to have more of a serious tone. Well, comedy is fitting for Iron Man since it's kind of an aspect of the character. And it really was required for Thor, because trying to translate that character to the real world in a purely serious tone would have been an epic fail. It's a case by case basis. A dark and gritty tone WORKS for Batman. Iron Man and Thor? No way.

You know saying they've done that on "everything" is stretching a great deal. We have four movies so far, and that hardly means the same tone will be applied to all future releases. Besides, there's a different creative team behind each movie. Jon F excells with comedy, and it showed in IM1&2. Avengers will likely have tons of comedy, too, courtesy of Joss Whedon. Since when was humor a bad thing? Both Batman movies had a good amount. In the end, you shouldn't expect every movie to duplicate Nolan's dark/gritty formula. It works well because it's BATMAN. That style fits his universe well and can not be applied to other universes. It's a case-by-case basis depending on the character and the immediate world they live in. Nolan is amazing, but holding every other hero-related movie to TKD/BB standard is just nonsensical to me. Besides, if they thrive to be like his movies, then that's just a completely unoriginal and rather pathetic move on their behalf.

Almost every film needs at least a little bit of humor in it to be good. The Joker was TDK's comedic relief. You're acting like TDK had no funny parts to it when everyone's favorite part (the Joker) was actually the comedic relief.
As katz has already told you several times, different characters have different tones. If they were to make a Booster Gold movie, would you be upset if they made it humorous and fun instead of dark and gritty?

Also, I'll be surprised if he wears the mask very much in the movie.

I do not see why he needs a mask at all. But if they wanted to do the mask, there are better designs they could have gone with.

Lol.
Hey I just had a thought. What if venom is an altered version of Scarecrow's fear toxin? Instead of causing massive amounts of fear, it causes massive amounts of aggression. It would explain the gas mask look.
