It was bound to happen...Discuss everything related to politics here.
Just remember, we're not trolls here. Disagreeing with an opinion doesn't mean you have a right to be a dick about it. Treat others with respect.
Erik-El edit: Added "general" to the title.

Well we are going to have our federal elections in a few months. So far predictions are not positive for my leanings

What are those leanings? I haven't heard much about predictions for the Elections.

I haven't heard much about predictions for the Elections. Canadian Politics are rarely even looked over outside our country. but basically the Conservative Party has a solid lead because of general idiocy on the part of the electorate that is giving them the win. I support policies to help the unfortunate, tighten control to prevent unethical or environmentally detrimental business practices. Social security, free health care and regulations are all necessary and beneficial to the state and it's citizens. The poor should not shoulder the majority of the burden of taxation while the rich get tax exemptions.

Main stream American politics has become so pathetic. Virtually everyone that can make any kind of difference falls under one of these categories: -I'm a liberal, but I don't like Obama, I swear! -I'm a liberal and blindly stand by Obama. -I'm a conservative and oppose ANYTHING Obama does. -I'm a conversative and want to work with Obama for a compromise...But by compromise I mean my way or the highwa. -I'm not a conservative or liberal! I'm not one of those 'washington' folks! I'm part of the tea party, baby! (aka far right anyway)

"The poor should not shoulder the majority of the burden of taxation while the rich get tax exemptions." Ohhhh man that's quite the discussion over in America.
Long story short, there's a huge debate on why tax cuts for massive corporations and raises for failed CEOs are good, but teacher's unions are crippling the economy and they have luxurious lifestyles.
DEBATE! lol

Although I consider myself a moderate. I realize most would say I have no spine.

Not saying Canadian politics don't degenerate into ass-hatery sometimes "The poor should not shoulder the majority of the burden of taxation while the rich get tax exemptions." Ohhhh man that's quite the discussion over in America. But the nature of the debate here on that is not at all of the same length here. A lot of silly debates U.S citizens are still having have been settled a long time ago in Canada and are now seen as accepted and normal.

Don't get me started, lol. And again, not saying Canadian politics don't have their share of idiocy. But a lot of stuff being argued by you our neighbors are a none issue here and have been for a long time. Like Health Care, we've had health care since the 1950's and in 1984, the Canada health act gives complete coverage for all legitimate medical procedures

There's plenty of facepalm worthy debates going on in the United States.

They all need a line of thought and a talking head to follow blindly, and those who disagree are evil.

I assure you none of us will live to see the day where a US President is either an agnostic or atheist. Hell, even Jewish is pushing it, TBH. The Daily Show did a hilarious segment how one town in Texas made a movement in an attempt to get a Jewish lawmaker out of power.
