Guarantee to find an Englishwomen/men somewhere. We get around. A mate of mine went to Bolivia, went into a bar, wanted to talk to one of the locals. Found and Englishmen. Conquest and Subjugation allows for that i guess. Well this was a moot ass thread. I could've come up with the answers myself. Guess i'll wait till crom gets here.

I don't think the British Empire went into Bolivia.

Actually there are more non europeans spread over the world. And Not everyone knows Norse classics as a matter of fact I didn't know anything about them until comics. And I can name a number of people who didn't either. I'm inclined to disagree with you there. Look at what languages people speak, in the Americas: English, Spanish, Portuguese. Most of the world has heritage from European countries. That's how the knowledge of these mythologies travel. Through family lineage. China doesn't count because there is a billion of them.
Most of my friends know of Norse mythology. And my heritage is Norwegian. this dude says it the best about the problem of cultural knowledge

Marvel and DC both have characters that are from all different types of mythology.I think characters like Thor,Wonder Woman,Ares etc. are used more often is because Greek and Norse gods have alot of myhology behind them that would be easy to twist into unique stories.

The overuse of the Greco-Roman and Norse myths could actually stem more from the physical appearances of the gods and heroes of these myths than anything else. With rare exceptions, the gods and heroes of these myths look completely human. Once you start branching into other mythologies, the gods begin to look less and less human (Anubis' jackal head, the multiple arms of Kali, and the full animal form of the Native American Raven) , and thus, less and less identifiable (on a physical level) to the general readers.

*reads the thread*
Where to begin, I wonder.
Edit: I'm really not sure where people would like me to begin and what input they would enjoy getting from me.
