Depends what you consider good news.. i disagree as the changing of any character from the character's perspective would be bad. You wouldnt want to have your past altered and subsequently be another person and no longer yourself, you would cease to be as you are.
Modern comic stories just suck on average

Disagree. Classic Era stories are just as inconsistent and poorly written on average as Modern. The trick lies in finding the titles that are written well. There are always great titles one must merely look.
Also they are fictional characters with no sentient thought I don't think they have an opinion.
