Ten or fifteen years? He didn't meet her until she got freaked out from seeing superhumans and wanted to meet with a genetics expert about it. I don't think the scene with the mindwipe was more than maybe a few weeks after the big fight. I hadn't thought about this until just now, but I wonder how Moira's appearance in this movie is supposed to work in with the movie canon. I haven't seen X-Men 3 in a long time, but didn't she have a small role in that movie as the doctor taking care of some human vegetable (into whom Xavier transfers his conciousness after Jean explodes him)? Wrong girl, I meant the one he meets in a certain Kitchen and sorta lets said character walk off with Magneto not even bothering to try and convince her to stay, so much for best friends. I don't think this movie felt all too tied down by continuity, considering Xavier and Mags sorta went to Jean together, Mags helped him build Cerebro, etc. Oh, my bad. I was thinking Moira. I don't think it's so surprising that Charles was willing to let Mystique go. He knew it was what she wanted. It would happen sooner or later. She was the one who seemed to be out of character in that deal. Her brother figure just got shot in the back and she's not even sticking around long enough to see if he lives? Another little plot hole I just noticed: Hank had already built Cerebro when Charles showed up at the facility? What, he just decided to hollow out a radar and turn it into a brain wave enhancing maching just for kicks?

the Cerebro thing didn't make much sense to me either.

She saw him as a romantic interest that spurned her love while Magneto accepted her with wide open arms, going as far as refusing to touch her should she hide herself. Xavier saw her as a sister but she did not see him that way. Besides all that, she was still going to stay with Xavier until he told her to go. Also, Hank had not already built Cerebro. He converted the station once he met Xavier. It is simply implied that Hank is that damn smart and can do that stuff that quickly.

Also Moria's mindwipe is only selective to Xavier's location. She still remembered everything else so it still fits with movie canon.

The movie was actually pretty good. I only took issue with 3 things. 1) The CGI was really sub-par. Seriously with how good this movie was, they really did not do justice in that department. But it was only slightly distracting.
2) Emma Frost was nerfed in a bad way with her diamond form. I do not mind that her strength was gone but her durability was next to worthless as well which I did not like.
3) I did not really believe in Young Erik's performance too much.
Oh but I am calling it now. Everyone will know who Michael Fassbender is. He will be huge because of his performance. I really felt he stole the show right out from everyone he was in a scene with.
His performance was......
Magnetic!
Bu-dum-pish!!!

I still think it's a little fruity to have someone you've known a good portion of your life literally walk out on you. Charles put more effort in trying to change Magneto and keep him around then her. "Yeah a read your mind, just go, join Magneto who just tried to kill a couple of thousand people and those other guys that just tried to start world war 3". Seemed a little weak. Thats just me. Mystique did not see Xavier as her brother figure. She saw him as a romantic interest that spurned her love while Could have been a more incest infatuation. His performance was...... Magnetic! Exalted. And yeah I agree some of that CGI was something that was noticable and making me wonder "Come on, couldn't put just a tad more money in there to make it look more real?" But whatever I got over it in said scenes.

I think Charles tried to turn Magneto away from evil and when he failed at that, turned away from him.
With Mystique, I think she hit the nail on the head when she said she felt like she was his pet. I think he had a certain lack of true respect for her. At least that is what I saw through their interactions. She was in love with him while he saw her as the sister that he did not really like.
Once he knew that she wanted to be with Magneto because he made her happy, I think he thought it made sense.

I don't know what you guys are talking about with the CGI. I thought it was superb.

I don't know what you guys are talking about with the CGI. I thought it was superb. You are the first and probably the last that will ever say that. It was not the worst CGI I have ever seen but given how advanced the technology is these days, this is really unacceptable CGI for a big budget movie.

I thought the CGI was pretty good too. It lagged at some parts, like Angel's wings and Banshee's flight, but otherwise it was solid and at times, spectacular (the last thirty minutes or so, with Mags was caraaaaazyyy).

My personal highlight was when Erik visited the Villa. I do love going to the villa. I also love visiting tailors and pig farmers.

It was there for the big finish sure (which I admit was pretty badass looking). But child Magneto wrecking the lab? That looked fake as hell. So did the scene where he ties up the guards in barb wire in Russia. It looked like cartoon wire tied them up until Xavier got there. The bank scene looked really fake too. The filling part.

Pure gold. I could have liked a few more Erik on a rampage scenes with former Nazis. That villa scene was awesome.

RE: Kid Magneto. I was more focused on his yelling and trying to tell if I could believe the emotion or laugh. Thankfully, I didn't laugh, lol. I hear you on the barbed wire, but it wasn't terrible by any means. I had no real issue with it.

Now these are just parts that took me from the movie a bit. I still loved the movie overall.
But yes, that yell with the kid reminds me of Mikey Rourke's yell in Iron Man 2. It just makes me want to cringe and laugh at the same time.

Thankfully, it wasn't to that degree with me (regarding the yell). Rourke's yell made me laugh my ass off, where-as I was mixed with Erik Jr's yell.

Lol okay yeah, I might be overdoing it by using Rourke as a related example. God that part was awful.
Oh and I really hated how Darwin and Emma Frost's clothes magically change with the use of their powers. No bueno.

Mystique I felt deserves a tad bit of that magic clothing change gig too. Since I'm almost positive I remember seeing her change in and out of clothes, then having said scenes were she morphs her outfit, unlike the original X films where she was naked the entire time through.
