It may not be Kingdom Come, but it was intriguing as a story. Sure, if you are a Clark/Lois fan, then Act of God would bite, but still, the concepts of it and the tragic elements made it a good read, in my opinion. I found it completely missed the majority of characters. Superman moping about and IIRC turning alcoholic like he's never lost his powers before, Wonder Woman going to a Christian Church, Green Lantern going unhinged, etc. It's been a while so I don't quite remember how the others handled it, but those were pretty lame imo. And, characterization aside, a book where half of the heroes wallow in self-pity because they've lost their powers while the other are clinging to Batman's cape for dear life because he's the only one who can actually do something now is not really a book I want to read. It wasn't interesting to me. It was just boring and bland.

It wasn't interesting to me. It was just boring and bland. Actually, Kyle's story line is possibly my favorite in that book. It was a testament to his determination. As for Clark and Diana, I could respond with key points addressed in the story to explain why I enjoyed the plot, but that would derail the thread. I can understand why you dislike the story, even if I disagree with your reasons though (and in fairness, your reasons are a little too general; there were far more details surrounding these decisions and events than you described). But some of the details in it made it interesting for me. Regarding Batman, there were only four that turned to him (Wally, Arthur, J'onn, and Linda), and the other non-metahuman street level characters helped them train. But anyway, like I said, it is not the best Elseworlds story out there, but I thought it was decent.

I can see your stance Silver, and I agree with most of it. The little things were just too much for me to pass over in addition to the general... uninterestingnes.

That's fine. Just difference of opinion on story quality.
One thing about Act of God that I found to be just laughable was the Phoenix group of the four heroes I mentioned earlier. Their costumes, names, and gimmicks were just silly, although I did appreciate what the point of them was in relation to the plot.

I actually did not mind WW and Superman getting together in Kingdom Come because of 2 reasons. 1 it was an Elseworld so it was fine. And 2 because Lois died and realistically, there is no way Superman would choose anyone over Lois if there was an option.

Surprised the numbers for Teen Titans aren't lower.
That book looks disgustingly bad.

Bleeding Cool posted a "top 5 ways to end Clark and Lois' marriage", with Kal selling off the marriage to Neron to bring pa Kent back being # 1. ;D LOL I read that...to be honest I would have prefered for someone like Maxima or someone new for Superman too date instead of WW.

Eh. I think the only problem for the Superman to be with Diana is that it makes so much sense, no one would give a shit. Perfect relationships are never interesting.

This will probably come across as a "ZOMG! WTF are you thinking, Silver?" moment, but I have given this some thought. I have decided to stop reading DC for a short while. Not permanently, just for the time being. Many of its recent events and then the news about the upcoming reboot (that may or may not really be a "reboot" reboot) have set me off some. This is not indicative of how much I like or dislike DC characters, because there are plenty of characters and titles I enjoy. I just am not planning on collecting any new issues or titles. Instead, my focus will be geared toward Marvel and the EU. I will sometimes read old Post-Crisis titles/issues that I never had the opportunity to read, but I will not be following new titles to be released for some time. And I will be reading more from Marvel and the EU than anything else. Usually, my reading would be split between Marvel, DC, and SW, but basically all this means is that DC will be cut out of that list. Once again, this is not permanent. I will catch up to current status quos once I choose to return to it.
That is all.

Grant Morrison is on Action Comics and Deathstroke gets a new # 1 after 19 years and you quit? Vile treachery, I tell you.

But in all seriousness, as much as I like Slade, I may or may not have been following his title anyway. I had a fairly extensive list as it was. And as much as I praise Morrison's writing, I probably would not have been reading Superman. I just have never been a consistent follower of his titles. Read some here and there, and I like the character, just not enough to make me an adament reader.

I'm more so extremely interested because Morrison + Superman casually results to gold, not because I'm always following Kal's titles, per se.
And for Deathstroke, you know. He's the goddamn Terminator.

Fun aside, I have no idea if Deathstroke's title will be good, or not (check the "DC's 52 Relaunched titles" thread for my reservations), but I would be lying if said I'm not excited at the prospect.
And, yes, I love Morrison and I love what he's done for Superman, so my expectations are high for Action Comics.
