Written by John Ostrander and his wife Kim Yale. (Note: She died of breast cancer in 1997) The Story:This is a non-nonsense series that takes you through Deadshot's origin and his family life growing up. The premise for this story is simple as a man has Deadshot's son kidnapped. His wife gets Floyd involved and Deadshot goes on a path of rage to track down the killer. The man and his group hire Pantha (not the character associated with Teen Titans) to take down Deadshot but he doesn't last very long at all. A member of the group's mentally ill brother kills Lawton's son and pays the price for his crime. A side story is Lawton's psychiatrist Marnie Harris tracking down Deadshot's family in an effort to help him. She tracks them down to their hometown and gets help from a local sheriff for her cause. The two stories come together in the end as we discover the true culprit behind his son's kidnapping. Thoughts: This is a short but very sweet series. It does a great job of showcasing what goes on inside the head of one of DC's truly underrated villains. We see what motivates him and the violent methods he's willing to go to for revenge. If you're a fan of Deadshot or the Suicide Squad I'd highly recommend this mini. It can be purchased for a very decent price at many of the popular comic book websites. 9/10 My only complaint is it left me wanting more!
