It's like the male and manly version of "I have boobs, you lose"
Seriously though, why Final Crisis?

He didn't fail to kill Batman, he made a gambit out of not killing Batman (Granted the gambit failed too, but it took a year for that to happen). And it's still one the best Darkseid stories in the past two decades. Yeah, that was stupid, but it wouldn't have been as stupid if Mandrakk actually had any impact on the story beforehand.

And it's still one the best Darkseid stories in the past two decades. It started out well, then it went downhill. Darkseid gets no respect Yeah, that was stupid, but it wouldn't have been as stupid if Mandrakk actually had any impact on the story beforehand. I would have preferred he'd never existed.

It started out well, then it went downhill. Darkseid gets no respect I'd say the book gave him plenty of respect. Certainly tons more than he got in numerous books preceding it. I mean, yeah, he failed, but he's a villain. What were you expecting him to win? Maybe if the writer was H.P. Lovecraft. ;D He certainly got further than ever before. Further than many other villains of the caliber. Can't fault you on that, really.

I mean, yeah, he failed, but he's a villain. What were you expecting him to win? I don't believe being a hero means a character should win. Maybe if the writer was H.P. Lovecraft. ;D H.P Lovecraft is awesome. "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" Hail Great Cthulu! Darkseid getting more respect then previous stories is not an argument in him actually getting the respect he deserved in final crisis. He never got enough respect in previous stories anyway. He just got more here. Darkseid should be bitchslaping gods and making the entire universe tremble under his boot. Not fail at eliminating Batman or play second fiddle to a space vampire from nowhere!
