Very true. No one hates mediocre characters more than I.

So don't pick up the book? Or maybe I can pick it up and just bitch about it instead like any self-respecting comic book reader.

Your call Erik, but for a character you're not keen on, you seem to be posting a lot about Cable.

@morph:
I did love him in that series. He was awesome. My hate for the character likely stems from the fact that the idea that this octogenarian can take Wolverine in a powerless fight is being taken seriously. In other words, I am in a funk.

lol, you're mad that I won't easily concede fights with Cable?
I wouldn't take it personally, I'm kind of a huge fanboy.

Well, it's no need to hate on Cable.
It's pretty hard to have TP/TK on any level and have a fair fight with street-levelers. Just look at Mr. X, the guy has very, very minor TP. He can't even read the surface thoughts of two people simultaneously and it allows him to be a wreckshop against other martial artists.

Hahaha, it happens to the best of us. We're all fans here, no one is prone to objectivity 100% of the time.

On other occasions, his power isn't even TP. Writers have majorly screwed up with Mr X concerning his powerset and the consistency of his abilities.
But I agree to your main point. TP can make street level fights extremely unbalanced, even at a small degree.

Dane: Cannot help it. Just like everyone started to hate Storm when storm fanboys flooded other sites. @morph: Everyone is entitled to be a bitch every once in a while.

@morph: Everyone is entitled to be a bitch every once in a while. I think Phantom has officially called it his "bitch mode" or something, where he indiscriminately bitches about everything he sees over the course of s certain timeframe for the sake of it, until he snaps out of it, lol.

I'm not a huge fan of Cable, but I don't hate him either. All I can say is "that was fast." I honestly think bringing him back so quickly diminishes the impact of him dying the way he did. I also liked the times when Marvel dealt with Hope's guilt about Cable and Nightcrawler sacrificing themselves during Second Coming.

ugh. The curse of Liefeld has still not been lifted. Pretty sure he's spreading to DC now...I think he is an artist on one of the new 52 titles. Eh, that's only because he was the "artist" for the Hawk and Dove mini and the beginning of their series back in the early 90s, before he became popular. The art is still flawed in those books with Kestrel having way too many teeth and Hawk's messy kitchen having neatly stacked dirty dishes because those are easier to draw than dirty dishes that are just thrown in the kitchen and the like but it isn't nearly as bad as his other stuff. That said, bringing Liefield back to Hawk and Dove wasn't a good idea in 2005 and it isn't a good idea, now. Hating for the sake of it aside, Cable can be a fine character when handled by the correct writer. Nicieza for instance. I was with you until you said Nicieza, who told a lot of the really bad Cable stories back in the 90s. Then again, he also wrote most of (all of?) Cable and Deadpool, which was excellent, so maybe I'm not giving the man enough credit. Yeah, I'd pick up a Cable book if Nicieza was writing it, I suppose. I mean, I am dropping most of my DC titles this year on account of them being freaking canceled.
