it is worth note there are rumors that Miles is also gay
though Marvel denied it,would anyone be surprised if they are lying to surprise readers?

Have we really reached a point in modern society where" this person isn't white" should be a news worthy and title selling move? Come on, people.

So do we know anymore details about this kid?
I think it would have been great if they did the comic from the perspective of those who knew the first Spider-man's actual identity and then saw this other guy running around with similar abilities as Spider-man saving the day. We could have watched them reacting and attempting to find out who it is. During the course of this, they introduce many possibilities and then after they have developed multiple characters we find out who the new Spider-man is. This shock and awe approach is terrible and serves only to alienate current fans. This could have been an awesome press event but they ruined it by trying to be too edgy.

DMW- Sounds pretty similar to the Red Hulk situation.

Well, it is a bit similar but we all know Rulk's alternate identity pretty well whereas we know next to nothing about this Miles kid. This way they get to develop his character before the big reveal. General Ross was already relatively well developed. They could even make the new Spider-man be vote-based like American Idol.
I would like to see this new kid's powers be different from Spider-man, though.
