Marvel just needs to give it a break for a while with these events. I'm eager to see if this actually has any lasting impact on the Marvel U, since they've been saying this for a while now and promoting how it will change the MU forever blah blah, other than just sweeping it under rug and having the characters act depressed all the time.
If they are going to do something, make sure it has a point other than just to do it. We'll see with Fear Itself.

It kinda f#cked up continuity in ways I disliked, so I'm not really objective about it. Jean's resurrection in such short notice, the entity being in grave danger after being shot by a Shi'ar ray gun, Emma getting the Phoenix (even if it was overwhelming her) then the Cuckoos also getting it and setting the ground for Warsong, along with Greg Land's art was a tad too much for me to bear. But true to form, I also read Warsong.

I did not really care for Warsong as much. I actually loved the retcon for Jean. Considering how much the Phoenix is part of like.... every one of her stories, it really just gave us the reason why.
As for the Shi'ar gun, well I think the premature resurrection helped in that hurting it. But I do not believe it could truly have died. Even the PF was not sure it would have killed it. Since it took another shot from the gun without trouble (after reconnecting with Jean), I think no.

Don't remind me of Mar-Vell, I can still remember that Mar-Vell Liberation Front guy saying he would beat the Void, and that Genis-Vell was "a cheap knock-off impostor that Mar-Vell would dispatch effortlessly."
