When he's called into action for his brief cameo, you see his hand hesitate when selecting a sniper rifle, then opt for his custom bow instead.

But not proof against Hawkeye's established arsenal. This goes back to the fact that I require more realism from my movies. If anyone actually does stick a nuclear arrow on him, I'm going to fucking burn the cinema down.

You could very well do that (not that I think he'd use that particular arrow, mind you) but none of the other characters make any sense, either, so unless you are selective to your suspense of disbelief, I see no real problem past that.
Cool.

The other characters work within their own settings. I don't have a problem with Tony building an armor in a cave with a box of scraps because Tony is ten times as smart as I am and knows things I can't understand. I have no problem with Steve gaining a hundred pounds muscle out of thin air because the scientists who made him are ten times as smart as I am and know things I can't understand. I have no problem with Thor because he's a fucking god and tells reality to piss off and go get him a beer on a daily basis. Guns and arrows? That I do understand, and under no circumstances can I accept that choosing arrows isn't stupid, because that is a tried and proven fact.

And the fact that he didn't choose the sniper rifle just reinforces my point that he is, in fact, stupid. ;D

The reason they take him over the others is that the others are even less likeable (Ant man and Wasp) or carry far more baggage (Vision and Wanda). That doesn't explain why they put him in in the first place. Now, the answer which presents itself, as you've mentioned, is that he serves as audience surrogate, which I'll address down. Phantom, lol, how many times do I have to tell you that I've already outlined what are most likely the most plausible reasons as to why he was selected for the movie? He probably will be using some guns in the movie. Katz already pointed out that even in Thor it was shown he has at least used guns, but seems to prefer his bow. I've also heard from an interview with one of the actors that Hawkeye has guns as well, but his bow being his main weapon. A bow and arrow is not a very practical weapon. But the fact that he also has a wide variety of trick arrows sets him apart, which I have to imagine are much easier to craft than trick bullets. Plus, if he's just another guy shooting guns, what separates him from every other agent or character or marksman that uses guns? I'm not sure if I would describe someone that runs around dressed as Robin Hood as cool. Yeah. On top of being one of Marvel's most popular female super heroes, the only one Marvel has rights to, and the fact that aside from Black Widow and Maria Hill Marvel is probably going to be looking for a way to incorporate another female face, Ms. Marvel is probably one we will see. I think partially because of her costume, Ms. Marvel is one of the hottest chicks in comics. But you're right, that is a costume that I doubt we will ever see, haha.

And the fact that he didn't choose the sniper rifle just reinforces my point that he is, in fact, stupid. ;D If Hawkeye can aim just as well with a bow, it doesn't make him stupid. Maybe he was trying to shoot Thor with a glue arrow to keep him in place ...lol.

Shush, I'm waxing rhetorical here. Alright, I can accept that. I still think he's not interesting though. Already answered: Hence I said "kinda". But perhaps plausible is the better word. A shame really. We need more skanky female superheroes. I do, actually. Realistic enough at least, and consistent with their themes and atmosphere. I could totally imagine Thor's "bitch, please" face if that actually came to pass.

I have my doubts Tony will be sticking to a single armor in this movie. I just hope it is due to getting his usual suit trashed and he comes back in the new one.(Hulk or Thor smash!!!)
Either way, they will all likely look bad!@# on screen. Even if Thor has to job a little to do it.

He will have two suits in the movie. One from IM2, and apparently this new one we are seeing.

Tony's main armor from IM1 and IM2 I thought were great. This doesn't look so good. Doesn't Ultimate Iron Man have a color scheme more like this? You don't think Garfield will be a good Peter Parker? It's not that, I just don't want to get my expectations too high. I did that with McGuire.

Lmao, that's exactly what I was thinking.
Unless Joss Whedon said, "Excuse me lady, I want the prop deliver to me looking like its been dragged all over concrete." Then we look pretty stupid.

She could just be laying it on the ground while she waits for everybody to get ready or for it to get used. Ain't no point carrying something when you can just put it on the ground.
don't diss the prop lady in the cap I dig her
