The on-set picture is also sans post production movie magic (a la cgi and such).
Until we get footage or something, ya'll suckas be wastin yo time speculation n shiz.
Then again, that's all we tend to do. Carry on.

I'm not saying it is the Mind Gem, but it is not the full cosmic cube for sure. Could it be a rounded or smoothed shard of the cosmic cube? Maybe. But it is not the cube in full. It could be some random magical gem as well. But changes have been made in movies. It is also entirely possible that they decided that an Infinity Gem looked best that way. The Infinity Glove was actually not seen in the Thor movie (claims it was in a really, really, quick cut), but either way, the majority were not able to spot it in the movie during the treasure vault sequence. IIRC, when the IG was shown off at SDCC 2010, it was massive. Much bigger than a regular hand. So those Gems could be much larger than you might think. It was seen in Thor, right before the Destroyer the rest of the frost giant are killed after the first one: As far as I know it isn't seen clearly, but I've at least seen it once: That was around 10 minutes into the actual film, post first Frost Giant being blasted: You can see it here(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7StEVw1CKk) in about 9:50-9:58 minute range. ( tried to keep that video I found on the down low, as I expect it to disappear if I link too many times over) It will probably be a lot easier to see on the DVD. But it was indeed there. Regardless, want to make a friendly wager of exalt / smiting on whether it's the cosmic cube or not lol? =P

Yeah I've heard some people say they've seen it but it is extremely quick and easy to miss, which is why most people haven't seen it. Especially since most people have seen Thor at most a few times. I've even looked for it every time I've seen it (3), but never was able to spot it. Thanks for the screen shot.
Sure, I'll wager that it is not the full cosmic cube on his staff.

I did post a youtube link too for you to see it, albeit in a dark shadowy fashion with just the gems lighting up, but still. I was only able to spot it(second time I saw it) due to reading were to look for it, outside that I requested help the first time to see if my friends could spot it: "K GUYZ, LOOK FOR A GOLDEN GLOVE WIT GEMS ON IT!!!" they failed me miserably. Okay then it's a bet. Lost gets a godly smite worthy of Thor himself delivering it to our karma and winner gets his exalt! Buwahaha!!! Till then Ckal, prepare!

"Sure, I'll wager that it is not the full cosmic cube on his staff" WHOA , WHOA. TECHNICALITIES! Isn't Hellos disputing it's a shard/piece of the cube and not the whole thing? So even if he's right, down the road you can turn to that statement and still say he's wrong if it's not the FULL cube! lol

Ah that brings back memories. The first time Daken really bit off more than he could chew.

Whether when it's actually used by Asgardian tech it changes in appearance and the like, whatever. As long as it's a cube and it's on Loki's staff, I call win. =P I'd have serious doubts if a fragment / broken cube would even function, given Nick Fury gave it to Eric, so it's either the full deal or not the cube on that staff.

Well he is trading his spear in the first movie for a staff that is for sure. But we have no idea what the jewel is fixed to it. Attachments:

If they would just get rid of Tony's stupid silver thighs, and get somebody other than Ruffalo to play Banner, this movie would be looking perfect.

hellos- Prepare my friend. katz- Yeah our bet is that if it is the full Cosmic Cube on Loki's staff, hellos wins. If it is anything other than the full Cosmic Cube, it is a win for ckal The Odinson. erik- What issue was it exactly where that happened with Thor and Daken? nexus- I agree about the silver on Iron Man's suit, not liking it. I betcha Ruffalo will do great though crom- What don't you like about what you've seen so far?

crom- What don't you like about what you've seen so far? Not keen on the Iron Man suit and Hawkeye using a bow turns me off, which is why I put up the Gutters link. Since it pretty much sums up the problem.

crom- I've heard a rumor that Hawkeye uses guns as well in the movie, we'll see. But I think Hawkeye is going to be cool with his trick arrows. Like I've already said, I'm not a fan of Iron Man's suit either.
hellos- It was Gungir. I think erik is just referring to when Loki was using it in the movie, although he it is back in Odin's possession by the end of the movie.

How about arrows that explode?
Or ones that make you sticky.
