Five bucks says you've never read an issue with Shang Chi, Crom He said it himself: "I am no longer the master of Kung Fu". Plus it's not like Peter isn't friends with better martial artists like Steve Rogers, DD, Iron Fist oh wait....

crom you know you just saw that scan somewhere. You wouldn't go near a Marvel comic, especially not a Marvel crossover event like Shadowland

Steve hasn't jobbed like Shang to my knowledge. And it's not like he couldn't convince IF to teach him.

Honestly, not many Chi jobbing examples come to mind (Wolverine aside, even then it's not jobbing if we take into account how skilled Wolverine truly is). The issue with him is he isn't given much respect by the forum community, imho.

It's not like he's really essential to the MU

No, he's not. But I don't see how that ties to the original statement

Steve hasn't jobbed like Shang to my knowledge. And it's not like he couldn't convince IF to teach him. The reason why he doesn't train with Danny (who was the first guy that came to Peter's mind, since they are fellow Avengers), or another character entirely has been explained. You'll have to read Amazing Spider-Man to learn what it is, though.

Wasn't that in the Free Comic Book Day issue? FCBD: Amazing Spider-Man issue. It's been a while since I read that. I'll have to dig through my stack and check it out again, seeing as I've forgotten the reasoning for just Shang-Chi.

If we're being technical, the real life reason is that Dan likes Shang-Chi. That's about it.

The in-universe explanation makes just as much sense, but in an industry where guys like DD, Cap, or Iron Fist make frequent appearances (even in Spider-Man's book), he decided to give some on panel time to an underused C-list character, and that is something I won't blaim him for. At the end of the day, each creator does use the characters he likes to use in the title they write.

That's exactly why my book would get dropped after 4 issues. Maybe 5 if I'm lucky.

lol, I'm just baiting. That Spidey actually decided to learn a little fu is something that should have been done years ago in my opinion.
