Ok so i'm trying to expand my comic knowledge but sometimes I read things and they are dry and I forget what actually happened or I just forget in general for whatever reason and also I am way behind with current comics as I haven't really been able to keep up with current comics since like '07 so i'm way behind on some of the things that's been happening. Lastly there are alot of characters and storyarcs I simply know nothing about so I figured since there are alot of very knowledgeable readers on these forums that I would use this thread to ask some questions and see if I can get some answers instead of just making a bunch of threads with each question I have.
1.When people say that a feat for a DC character doesn't count because it is "pre-crisis" what does that mean exactly?
2.What happened in Doomwar that caused Black Panther to be depowered?
3.What happened to Johnny Storm and why did the Fantastic Four change to the Future Foundation?
4.Can anyone explain how Mr.Negative's powers work?
5.Colossus is Juggernaut now? Is he stronger than the Original Juggernaut because he's a mutant with super strength already?
6.What happened to Juggernaut in Amazing Spider-Man?

1.When people say that a feat for a DC character doesn't count because it is "pre-crisis" what does that mean exactly? In 1985, DC had the event called "Crisis on Infinite Earths" which rebooted and restarted the DC timeline because the continuity was more fucked then a Filipino whore and had silly things like Superman sneezing galaxies away. Since these stories were also mostly Silver Age sillyness, all the characters had ridiculously overpowered feats that made zero sense. As such they should not be counted in any serious argument.

Question 1.
Answer (hopefully): There was a mass revamp called: Crisis on Infinite Earths. This event pretty much killed off all Earth's in that multiverse. So they could start again. During this revamp, they lowered powers down immensely. Because you've got silly stories with the likes of Superman sneezing a solar system away, throwing planets around like beach balls, etc. So. Post Crisis are the revamped far less powerful characters. And pre-crisis are the massively powered characters.
Also. During the years later, these character, I.E. Superman eventually grew more powerful. Not to the Pre-crisis levels, but more powerful.
Someone could probably give a better answer. Or at least more clear.

So are no feats salvageable for any characters before that event?

I'll catch a movie in a few, but I can answer several of your questions, Vance. 3, 4, and 6 for certain.

So are no feats salvageable for any characters before that event? Beatboks would be a better answer for this. But some of the serious storylines involving earlier incarnations of legacy characters (like Doctor Fate) as well as more serious events that tie into the multiple earths are salvageable because they are the only "consisten" info we have on certain very old characters that haven't reappeared or Z-listers that just never get any screen time. But as a whole, no it's all gone to the scrap heap. Reach in there at your own peril.

The Crisis event was to lower their powers. So it's very doubtful that they would be. Unless you're Commando Karate Kid, who just chops Crisis in half. A lot of stuff was wiped anyway. I know The Great Darkness Saga from Legion is still in effect. And Darkseid took over 3 billion minds in that. So I believe that feat is still credible.

Here's a few more questions...
1. Why do so many people seem to think that Shang Chi is the best fighter in the Marvel Universe. What has he actually done to prove this. I was told by someone who believes he is that Spider-Island reconfirmed what he thought..What did Shang Chi do in Spider-Island.
2.Can someone explain what happened in the Dark Reign arc of New Avengers with the Eye of Aggamoto? I read the issue but I don't quite remember what happened. I just remember it resulted in Iron Fist's new white costume.
3.Frank Miller claims to have based Elektra on San Seref from Will Eisner's the Spirit, can anyone confirm their similarities?
4. How does Black Adam compare to Superman or Captain Marvel strength wise?
5.How fast is Daken?

. 1. Why do so many people seem to think that Shang Chi is the best fighter in the Marvel Universe. What has he actually done to prove this. nothing. Simple as that. He neither has the amount or quality of feats to make us believe he is better then say the likes of Iron Fist, Logan, Mister X . 4. How does Black Adam compare to Superman or Captain Marvel strength wise? He's supposed to be an evil counterpart to Marvel, same powers etc. Ignoring the WWIII arc where he had a massive power boost. He's supposed to be equal in strength. Thought on panel he actually has better feats the Marvel and neither Marvel nor Black Adam have the feats Superman has.

Aren't Marvel and Superman supposed to be equals?

1. I've only read like one issue of Shang Chi in Spider-Island. It looks like he's got Spider-Man type powers. So people might be thinking that he can do loads of amazing things not realising he's got Spider-Man powers,
Or he could do something amazing. But if it's because of the Spider-Man powers. I wouldn't count it as regular Shang-Chi.

Aren't Marvel and Superman supposed to be equals? Supposed to, yes. Key words, supposed to. Sadly Captain Marvel never gets the proper screen time to actually show it to us Really the closest thing we ever got to proof of it was Kingdom Come and that was an elseworld. When Marvel shows up it's solo comics so we can't compare or he never does any feats on panel equal to the best superman routinely performs.

Aren't Marvel and Superman supposed to be equals? In the community we live in, feats are usually fact. Captain Marvel has less feats. Because he has a fraction of appearances that Superman has. My bet, this will change soon in the DCnU. Since Johns (SO EXCITED!!!!! ;D) is going to be doing a cover story for his Justice League comic.

Johns is writing it so he'll get his ass handed to him by DC's messiah, Hal Jordan

Since I've got no scans any more (FUCKING COMPUTER!!!!). I found this yesterday. The reason why he [Superman] considers them equals, is because Superman spent the day with Captain Marvel's power inside Superman's body.
