First Look from Comingsoon.net has released shots from the first day of shooting for the new Robocop movie to be released in 2013. What do you guys think of this new information? Do you like it? Hate it? Does it make you gnash your teeth and pull out your chest hair?   Personally, I would have preferred the concept that got tossed below.  Look at that? He looks so agile. He looks so fast. He looks like he can perform a barrel roll! Hell the damn cyborg has a fucking lightsaber! What more could you want? Of course, nothing would ever beat the original. Peter Weller is as much Robocop as Arnold was Terminator.  Discuss now minions! EDIT: An enhanced and cropped picture.  Here is a shopped version colored to be similar to the classic. And I should take an opportunity to explain my comment. I never much cared for RoboCop at all. I could give a fuck. He looked lame. But this actually looks really flarking cool, cooler than freaking Dredd with his large ass helmet for sure. |

Not really liking the black. I saw someone say it looks kind of like a Batman outfit with a round helmet and I kind of agree. I don't want a slow, mechanical Batman. I want Robocop.

I do like the bulky one. It was the 80s. It was retro-futuristic. The new one does not look a whole lot less bulky anyway.

Meh. It doesn't look that sleek to me. It is more modern futuristic for sure but that only means it comes in the amazing and versatile shade of black and it has lots of recessed details in the arms and legs.

Granted this is only production shots and the Omnicorp website shows that Robocop will have some kind of light on his body in the shoulder photo but it still looks really boring and dated. Not dated in the same way the classic armor is but dated as in it just seems like more of the same recent "futureistic" armor. I still think that lightsaber concept rocked all my socks. It would have taken the original look and made THAT sleek and more refined. That is what I was hoping for.

I watched the movies in my youngin days. I know he's a cop. I know he's a robot. I have a toy so I know he wields a gun. That's my RC knowledge.
