Welcome, Ladies and Gents, to the first annual Beyondathon! The gist is as follows: The Beyonder, as is his wont, has gotten bored. Roaming the omniverse, he came across a being of similar power and mischievous intent: Mr. Mxylpkt. Stuck with several weeks to kill before his next visit to Superman, Mxylpkt proposes a contest. Beyonder will choose three normal people from the Marvel and DC earths, and Mxy will give them powers, skills, and equipment. And then Beyonder and Mxy will try to kill them all in a horrible fashion. This will be accomplished by way of transporting them to other universes, where they will be challenged in strange and interesting ways.
So what does this mean for you, brave reader? You are to create three characters. You can have them represent Ledgers or not, whichever you like. However, these are not the traditional Ledger Scenario Characters. Not quite. Instead, Mxy will give your team 4 powersets, 4 ability sets, and 4 Special Items. Each character will get four slots, and you can choose which of your allotted gifts to give to each. Confused? Let me elaborate. You could choose to give a character all 4 of your powersets, but he would then have no room for abilities or items. You could give him two powersets and two ability sets, or 1 and 3, or 1 powerset, 1 ability set, and 2 items. How you distribute these between your three characters is up to you. However, once you’ve used all four of something, you can’t use any more.
The entities controlling this cosmic game are devious indeed, so I would recommend a wide variety of powers and abilities, as you never know what you might come across.
Rules:
-A power set is a superhuman ability or set of abilities associated with a single individual character. Gambit's kinetic energy charging and superhuman agility are an example of a power set.
-An ability set is a naturally learned or trained skill or knowledge or set of skills or knowledge disciplines associated with a single individual character. Black Panther's martial arts and scientific knowledge are an example of an ability set.
-A special item is a unique or uncommon object that has commonly been used by comic book characters that does not typically exist within the real world or could be made with common technology. The magical Ebony Blade is an example of a special item.
Powers:
If you choose no powers for a character, you will be physically equal to Tim Drake as Robin.
-You may not use powers that include:
Physical attributes above Spider-Man.
Magic or reality warping.
Probability altering (good or bad luck).
Illusion Casting.
Healing Factor above Wolverine’s.
Intangibility.
Invisibility.
Precognition above Classic Kaine.
Flight.
Durability equal to or above Luke Cage.
Telepathy stronger than move reading.
Telekinesis.
Force Fields.
Pheromones.
Duplication.
Tele-dismemberment.
Size Manipulation.
Mental Manipulation by any means.
An easy solution to combat situations (Omnicompetence, etc).
Abilities:
If you choose no ability sets for a character, you will have the skills of Tim Drake as Robin.
-You may not use abilities that allow you to:
Gain experience beyond the span of a human life. Be reasonable here, there are plenty of highly skilled mortals to draw upon.
Somehow exceed the limitations of your physical attributes. For example, you cannot perform Spider-Man's acrobatics to the same degree he does without his superhuman agility.
Learn skills that allow you to exceed the power limits, e.g. Magic, Chi Manipulation.
Items:
-You may not use items that grant the user:
-Additional powers that exceed the accepted powers threshold (Mjolnir, Iron Man's Suit).
-An easy solution to combat situations (Mr. X's mind, Midnighter's battle computer, etc).
-Anything that would grant an easy win over a Spider-Man level character.
-The items you equip will be the only items you have for the scenario.
-Items that help you use your powers like Cyclop's visor or a few decks of cards for Gambit are free.
-You may not loot fallen enemies for their equipment under any circumstance.
Additional Gear:
-In addition to special items, you may have a small armament of standard ranged weapons (2 small, e.g. pistols/throwing knives/shurikens, and 1 large, e.g. assault rifle/sniper rifle/bow) with unlimited regular ammunition.
- In addition to special items, you may have 1 explosive per character. This will be replenished after each round.
-In addition to special items, you may have 2 melee weapons of standard materials.
-In addition to special items, you may also have armor to the grade of standard kevlar in a design of your choosing.

The scenario will be up in bits and pieces over the next several days.
Round 1
For his first challenge, Beyonder decides to toss your team into the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Mxy, thinking things will be too easy, modifies your opponents somewhat. Everyone is thrown into an arena interspersed with the four elements:
The entire field is made of Earth and has dimensions of approx. 200 meters x 100 meters. Things designated with blue are channels/pools of water, with platinum grates over them. (Like where Katara captures Azula.) Brown squares are pillars of rock (like where Aang first faces Combustion Man), and black squares are metal posts with cables hanging from them (sort of like power lines). The outer walls are black and are 50 feet tall and made of platinum.
Beyonder’s meddling has ensured that all of the Avatar characters will work together, and has given them full knowledge of how to use their new gear and abilities. Your opponents are:
Katara (Flask of Water, no bloodbending)
Aang (Staff, no Avatar State)
Zuko (Twin Muramasa Blades)
Toph (Unarmed)
Sokka (Ebony Blade, Adamantium Boomerang, Water Tribe Armor)
Azula (Unarmed)
Ty Lee (Spider-Man’s speed and agility)
Mai (Carbonadium Throwing Knives, Bullseye's skillset)
After 90 seconds, Fire Nation reinforcements will arrive in the form of:
20 Fire Nation Soldiers (All firebenders) in a Titanium Fire Nation Tank
If you defeat all of the opponents, Mxylpkt will remove Ty Lee’s Spider-Powers and send her to fight alongside your team for the duration of the scenario, and Beyonder will give one of your team Firebending.
Random Encounter
Basic Knowledge for Both Sides
Win by Death, KO, Incapacitation, No BFR

Round 2
Mxyzptlk has decided to take the next turn, and he throws your team back into Earth's past, landing them in the Coliseum in Rome. He's stocked it with 100 of the greatest warriors of the era, Spartans. To make your stay interesting, Beyonder has gathered three mercenary types from the present and added them to to battle, making them generals over the Spartans. He's given your enemies 10 minutes of strategic prep with basic knowledge.
Your Opponents:
100 Spartans
-Titanium Swords, Shields, and Spears, Kevlar Armor
Sabretooth
-Adamantium Claws and Skeleton
UDON Taskmaster
-Weapons Generator, Twin Pistols w/ Carbonadium Bullets
Deathstroke
-Submachine Gun w/ Carbonadium Bullets, Blast Staff, Nth Metal Armor, Promethium Sword
Also, to make things more entertaining, Beyonder has dropped an angry pride of lions into the match. 5 of them. 20 feet behind your team.
Location:
S = Sabretooth + 30 Spartans
D = Deathstroke + 30 Spartans
T = Taskmaster + 30 Spartans
10 = 10 Spartans
Lions = Self Explanatory
If you defeat all of your opponents, Beyonder will send Black Widow (Twin Pistols, Widow's Bite) to join your team and Mxyzptlk will grant Taskmaster's photographic reflexes to one of your team.
Round 3
Beyonder's chosen the battleground again, and he's tossed his new favorite playthings into the world of Aliens and Predators. You are placed deep within a jungle, and Beyonder tells you that a great reward lies in the heart of the temple, if you can make it there.
However, within the jungle is a pack of a dozen (12) Elder Predators, and they know that your team is the greatest trophy they've ever encountered. They have combi-staffs, throwing blades, wrist blades, helmets, cloaking devices, and plasma blasters, and are out for your heads. If you somehow make it through the jungle without being wiped out, you can enter the temple. However, 30 seconds after you, 30 Colonial Marines will enter, armed with M16s, Desert Eagles, Frag Grenades, and Motion Detectors. Their goal is to cleanse the temple of any life they encounter, which means they'll start with you. And if you make it that far, the center chamber is occupied by an Alien Queen and and no less than 11 angry Aliens who will defend her to the bitter end, even if it means spilling their acidic blood for her sake.
If you manage to clear all of the enemies, you will find an ancient chest. Inside you will find the Muramasa Blade, a Vibranium-weave shirt, and enough Adamantium bullets for one member of your team.
Random Encounter.
Basic Knowledge for your opponents.
You have no knowledge of what you're facing, but have basic knowledge of who your opponents are once you meet them.
Win by Death, KO, Incapacitation, no BFR.
Round 4
Beyonder, somewhat irked at the relative ease with which your team has passed the earlier rounds, transports you to a wretched hive of scum and villainy. The Mos Eisley Cantina. Mxy has assembled a team from the Star Wars Universe (and a few bonuses, just so things don’t get boring) to take you down.
Upon entering the cantina, your team is faced with:
Han Solo w/ Blaster Pistol, Taskmaster’s Double Time Capability
Chewbacca w/ Bowcaster and Carbonadium Ammo, Deadpool’s healing factor
Boba Fett w/ Jetpack, Duraplast Armor, Flamethrower, mini-concussion rocket, blaster carbine, sonic device, whipcord
Luke Skywalker
Anakin Skywalker
Mace Windu
(All three Jedi have their lightsabers, Luke has a blaster, and they can only use Movie Feats, not EU.)
From other universes, Mxy has pulled:
Black Panther (Pre-Doom War) w/ Vibranium Suit, Energy Daggers, Anti-Metal Claws, Ebony Blade
The Gorgon (No Stone Stare) w/ Godkiller, Grasscutter
Ravager (Rose Wilson) w/ Promethium Swords, Suit of Sorrows
Green Arrow w/ Bow and Trick Arrows, Adamantium Razor Arrows, Muramasa Blade
Wesley Gibson w/ Twin Pistols, Carbonadium Ammo, Adamantium Knife
Shocker w/ Gauntlets
Non-Star-Wars characters will enter the Cantina 1 minute after the battle has begun.
Due to the unique nature of the Star Wars Universe, Han shoots first.
If you manage to conquer your enemies, Beyonder will give one of your characters a Lightsaber and Mxy will give The Killer's marksmanship to two of your characters.
