Just read the latest issues of Spider-Man and Spider-Girl. Loving it as usual. Flash his my dawg. Him as Venom is cool. Flash has been pushed up to one of my favorite characters ever since that war story they told after New Ways to Die. Glad he's in on the centerstage now. Anya is my homegirl. Always has been, always will be. The last issues were some intense stuff, with Red Hulk killin' her dad and all, and now the Kravens are back, man I can't wait to see how this plays out.

What do you like about her? I'm only reading it for Sergei and I think so far the issue is rather boring, lol.

Mostly where she's come from and where she's going. Since she's a "new" character, it's nice to see her grow and develop into whatever she's going to turn out to be. As for the latest issues, I've just been enjoying the story telling for the most part. It starts out with her doing the crime fighting thing, showing that she's grown to be a fairly apt at that. The relationship she had with her father was good too. He's accepted that it's something she wants to do, and supports her with it. Then to keep thing interesting, Red Hulk shows up on the scene, Anya's first real major, major threat she encounters and he singlehandedly shattered her entire life, so it was nice seeing how she reacts and recovers from that. I like that the story doesn't ever focus on her fighting bad guys or crime, but on her as a person. I find it cool that her inner monologue's done by way of twitter/facebook posts, showing that she's a kid caught up in the 21st century. I dunno, I guess I just like the emotion the story's been evoking in me. I guess I could see how it could come off as boring, especially when comparing it to the stuff Spidey's goin' through right now, but if I want crazy action and stuff like that, I'll read Spidey. This book just seems more down to earth for me. It might be the fact that she doesn't have major villains like the Scorpion or somethin', it might be because she's a teenager, so her problems are more on my level, it might be because I've been a fan of hers, but I've just been really enjoying it. It's got me interested in what's happened, and excited for what's going to happen next. That's really all I care for in a good story.

Never knew much about Arana anyway. She used to wear an armor that came off and on like a symbiote. It's what made her different from Arachne and Spider-Woman.

Yeah but the armor was ripped by Doomsday Man and she was only left with her powers and now apparently not even them.

I think Imma start reading Spidey comics. What's a good jumping point? Also, I remember Spiderman unmasking himself during Civil War. Is his identity public now or did they retcon it?

They retconed that with the infamous event of One More Day where Pete made a deal with the Devil( Mephisto ) to save his Aunt May's life and have his identity secret again.
You could start from Amazing Spider-man #648. It's about BIG TIME, where Pete gets a new job and everything goes well for him. You should start from there or if you want to read the Gauntlet story and the epic Grim Hunt arc, you could start from Amazing Spider-man #600. You chose. =]
