Indiana Jones has just taken an ancient stone statue from an aboriginal tribe. He escaped the aboriginees chasing him and has almost made it back to his boat, when he finds himself blocked off by Dundee, who knows Jones has stolen something and is none too happy about it. -Jones is armed only with his whip. He lost his gun somewhere earlier in the escapade. -Jones is his 'original trilogy' version, before he got all old and stuff. -Dundee is armed only with his knife. -Morals are on, both men are in character. -They fight about 20 yards away from the bank of a river, where Indiana's boat is. Additionally, there is a large unpiloted propellor plane moving in slow circles right next to them, and a family of crocodiles (2 adults, three smaller ones) just climbing out of the river looking for some breakfast.

Indy could probably use his whip to disarm Dundee of his knife

Indy could probably use his whip to disarm Dundee of his knife But would that be enough to beat him?

Sure. Take away Jones' standard gear but not Dundee's?
What is the matter? Afraid Jones will sweep this?

Sure. Take away Jones' standard gear but not Dundee's? What is the matter? Afraid Jones will sweep this? Giving either one of them a gun would make for a major advantage. It's a lot closer when there's just a whip and a knife between the two of them.

@nexus:
You could give Dundee his fishing dynamite.

I call this stalemate. Both characters beat all comers because they're walkin plot devices, so the weapons don't matter

Indy could probably use his whip to disarm Dundee of his knife But would that be enough to beat him? I'd say yes, it would basically be Indy with a knife and a whip vs an unarmed Dundee

But would that be enough to beat him? I'd say yes, it would basically be Indy with a knife and a whip vs an unarmed Dundee So you think that not only can Indy disarm Dundee, but he can take the knife for himself too? Usually when Indy disarms someone with his whip, the weapon just goes flying somewhere and lands on the ground.

Usually when Indy disarms someone with his whip, the weapon just goes flying somewhere and lands on the ground. Even if that did happen, you would still an armed Indy vs a weaponless Dundee. Indy would also have a ranged advantage regardless of if he disarmed him or not. He can also use his whip to trip Dundee

Dundy is stronger then Indy, tripping him with a wip is very unlikely. He's also a lot tougher. He taken tail slaps from crocs and gotten up. Dundee can take Indy.

He can also use his whip to trip Dundee It's true that Indy has a distance advantage, but a whip isn't exactly the most useful of weapons in a one-on-one fight, particularly against a man who has sufficient speed and reflexes to catch and kill snakes without breaking a sentence.

Dundee would win with standard gear. Dundee has a rifle, an Enfield Sporter seen and used in the first and second film though different variants in the movies, and a Knife And Dundee is a sharpshooter
Indy has a whip and a pistol M1917 Revolver
Dundee has higher caliber rounds, longer range, more accuracy, and a deadlier close range weapon.
Both are cool. Indy does a lot of damage to large groups. Mc is a stealth saboteur. Mc does not kill his enemies though he just incapacitates them. Mc can also punk snakes. He is too quick for Indy
