Sooner or later, our site will be sporting one hell of a home page. Sparda or Dane will work on it...I'm not sure which one. I know both have offered. But let's get to the point: what are the main topics we want on there? Staff reviews? Opinion articles by the staff? Interviews with talent (which we'll unfortunately have to snag from other sites). Who will be willing to also write these?
Speaking of which, I'll try my best to reach out to the limited talent I'm friends with on Facebook to see if we can get exclusive interviews. Jon Mayberry was kind enough to do so for my facebook group, so I see no reason why he wouldn't here.
Thoughts?

K4tz, I'm too beat to come up with a list of things I'd want our home page to have, now, but I keep it in mind for tomorrow.

K4tz, I'm too beat to come up with a list of things I'd want our home page to have, now, but I keep it in mind for tomorrow. That's unfortunate. This thread (and all home page related ones if made) have a time limit of 30 minutes remaining. Once that expires, they'll all automatically delete. If anyone attempts to create a "home page" thread after the 30 minutes, it sends a message directly into CK's brain, where he'll proceed to hunt you down and beat you with your own keyboard.

I'm working on a simple but elegant (read: readable) home page using google site hosting.
Here are some ideas that I thought up:
Interviews (really, I think that if we emailed some of the talent in the comics biz and told them that we were a fan site, we'd get some interviews done over the internet) Retrospectives (for me, I'm planning on doing a story-by-story "walkthrough" if you will of Sandman and Wolverine's main series. Which is basically insanity, but flark it, I have free time) Editorials (IE: group discussions where we all contribute our opinions on recent developments in the comics industry)
and really anything we want. Just have to have it have some quality, yo. Also I need to remember HTML cause I'm rusty as flark.
but that being said, Dane actually has some design skills so he's probably better suited for this than I am.

Good ideas, sir. Regarding interviews...It's always the up and coming writers who are willing to help out. I got Mayberry when he was new to Black Panther... But then again, some are just not willing to help out and will flat-out pull a CV-staff and ignore requests. I'll try my best to reach out to all of the talent I can, though.
In short, I'll inform them that this new forum is essentially taking the best and brightest members from the most popular forums to create a solid community. We'd be beyond grateful to have an interview with them in the future regarding their work. Hopefully, they'll realize we're the educated fanbase and that'll receive a good response.

Just wondering, but do any of you guys have the original image of the cityscape from the top of the page? I'm thinking of making a T-shirt...

That would be sick, ferro. Dane found the image, so you'll have to ask him.

Awesome, I was hoping you would like that I was thinking if any of us ever does a video on CV we could wear one of those, or if we're ever at a comic con of some sort. And who knows, if we can come into the resources to produce more then maybe we can sell them. Then we would have some money for the site. And I think it would look really cool.

I'd totally be down for letting someone stay at my place and we'll go to comic-con, rocking the shirts for interviews. We probably wouldn't have the funds for a camera (or would we?), so worst case scenario, we'd have a recorder and I could transcribe the interviews.

Well, I actually already have a digital camera we could use. It's not super high end, but it records sound. I'm also thinking of upgrading pretty soon to a better video recording model.
