I simply want to take Original characters of ours and use them in this world. It would be tournament style for the sake of battling. A plot and backstory are on the way if I get enough Interest.
Note, I want the duels to be epic, so more powerful wizards will be required.

You mean any of the characters we have made ?
If so im not sure how the man would fit in the harry potter universe but it could be interesting.

One will the creator of the Tournament who is a Dark Wizard. An evil guy that basically is sick in his head. The second one will be a more heroic Wizard.

I'd be interested, though not massive on the battles portion. I'd be more interested in a solid story basis.

What time frame are we using? A good bit after the Seris. Say two generations forward. Your character can be related to any of the characters if you like. I'd be interested, though not massive on the battles portion. I'd be more interested in a solid story basis. Depending on what the other 2 think, we could change it to focus more on the story. You guys just have to promise me that there will be battles/duels. XD

I'd like to focus on some story driven element as well, of course affording some great battles. 2 Generations? I call one of Ron and Hermione's Grandchildren then.

A couple thoughts. #1. We should compile, or link to a list of spells/charms/potions/hexes/curses etc that are allowed. I don't know if we want to make up a bunch of new stuff, and if we do I think it should all be brought forward and voted upon by participating members. This will hopefully lead to a better story and less confusion. #2. I think it's kool to have powerful wizards for awesome battles, but lets please remember not everyone is a Dumbledore or a Voldemort. Every character has thier place, and even the most powerful skilled wizards have their flaws. I hope we keep everyone within the realistic context of the original story power-wise. We can't all be the most powerful and honestly i don't want to, it makes it boring and unrealistic #3. For simplicities sake I would suggest we stick to the setting of the previous books just in the future. We can make reference to or have characters from other regions or areas, but most action should take place in the familiar setting, basically of England. I already have two characters I want to do, 1 light and 1 dark. Autumn Wesley (Hermione and Ron's granddaughter and daughter of Hugo Weasley). And my dark character is going to be from America and not at all connected to the previous world, current name being Igneo Skiba. Just my thoughts let me know what you all think.

I agree with all the points you made, but I also want to point out that the villains will be quite powerful, so having a decent power level will be required, unless you want your character dead. Note: The Unforgivable Curses will be allowed

I have an idea for a rather... unorthodox... wizard. I'm not sure if you'd consider him acceptable or not.
Basically, my wizard deals with concepts that were explained a little bit in "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". Essentially, there is not such thing as actual magic. Everything can be explained by physics if you understand it deeply enough. My wizard is a muggle-born Hogwarts student whose parents are deeply learned physicists. They take a deep interest to his magical abilities, and have taught him physics so that he can use that knowledge to better his understanding of magic.

Hmmm...very interesting idea. I'm not sure if it makes sense within this universe though. Of course it's not my call lol
