I was just curious if anyone would be interested in doing an Avatar-like RPG set in more modern times. No one person would control the Avatar character instead the Avatar's action would be the result of the group's actions. IE: The group decides that they need to go to this city to get this item. I want the Avatar in this story to be very reluctant. I have a story in mind as well as some rules.
So anyone interested?

I am. However I won't enter two at once and I have a Harry potter one i'm stoked for. Two of my favorite fictional stories though.

I had an interest in one a while ago. I think I still have a character I was creating. So I guess I could use that.

Like the others have said, I've already got two characters set up in the HP RPG.

We can always wait till the Harry Potter one concludes. I just wanted to see if anyone was interested.

You could work out what you want from the story and such. Then when the Harry Potter one finishes, make this.

I was thinking of setting this in a more Tokyo-like Ba Sing Se with tall buildings and tall walls. Let's put the world population at around 1 billion with maybe 25 million in Ba Sing Se alone. Water, Earth, and Fire bending are very common place. Since Aang was the last Airbender, that is a closed form of bending. However, this does not mean that Airbending is gone it is just incredibly rare like a 1 in 100 million chance you'll be an Airbender so maybe 10 of them exist. Given that bending has become more ubiquitous, less and less non-benders are born each year. The story should center around a non-bender revolution with the characters we create having to choose whether to side with the benders who are mostly just trying to live their lives and the non-benders who are trying to survive. Think X-men but in reverse like in House of M only with Benders not mutants. What does everyone think about this?
I was also considering adding more bending types to the list. I mean we have Air, Fire, Water, and Earth as well as all the derivative forms like Lightning, Metal, Sand, Blood, Plant, etc. I was thinking something like Fusion Bending. Like if two different benders had a kid he could bend both things somewhat but would be more centered around what those two things combine to make. IE: Fire and Earth bending would become Lava Bending etc. What do you guys think of that?
Anything you would like to add?

The Avatar series never progressed far enough to touch on this at all, but I had always imagined Aang would find a way to revive airbending. Since he was able to use energybending to take away Ozai's powers, maybe he can also give bending powers to normal people. The group of people who had taken up refuge in the old Air Temple would be prime choices for Aang to bestow airbending and let them revive the race.
Anyway, that's just an idea I've had.
