That's cool, some of then are actually pretty good. Not all of them, many get on my nerves. But the good ones are worth the look. I'm mostly into symphonic, power and epic metal. I have problems with lots of Death Metal and Black metal. Mostly because I want to hear people sing, not tear their own throats. just some of my favorite bands: -Nightwish -Crom -Manowar -Rhapsody -Iron Savior -Stormwarrior

Sonata Artica is awesome. I actually went to a concert that was a double feature with Nightwish. Best concert I've ever been. Both bands were on fire.

I guess it varies. Off the top of my head.
-All That Remains -Killswitch Engage -Sevendust -In Flames -Mudvayne -Demon Hunter -Then there's tons of rock I love, but I doubt it counts as metal.

Yeah, so I put my music player on random the other day, and I was reminded of how awesome this Japanese Symphonic Metal band, Kadenzza was. I thought I should share. www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=15280

I don't really know much about the different subgenres of metal, but I do like more than a few metal bands. I'm a fan of Iron Maiden and Megadeth, and I'm a HUGE fan of Kamelot (I haven't listened to any of their CDs before Epica but I'm okay with that because without Khan they're not the same). I guess they're symphonic power metal? Whatever, once you go further past the label "metal" I get confused. All I know is that they're a really fucking good band.

I'm a huge stickler when it comes to genres. It's a quick way to find bands that I like when I'm in the mood for a certain sound.

I'm a huge fan of Metallica, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Judas Priest, Korn, Manowar, Sabaton and some more. I also love scorpions and disturbed though i'm not really sure if they are metal bands. They sound mostly like rock, though the difference is not really that huge. Btw, i really dislike Death Metal....

All of these are awesome. Disturbed is metal, Scorpions is rock.
