Overmars was a speed demon, most people go for Henry but Overmars is definitely just as strong. I remember in a Portugal v Holland game. Ronaldo was running for the ball at high speed. And Overmars caught up to him and ran past him to get the ball. I was like YEEAAAAHHHHH!!!

Was, Wenger has been losing for far too long for this to be a short losing streak.

Not saying to get rid of Wenger, but maybe he's not the ideal choice to be the one who decides what to do in the transfer window and that whole process. He's also missed out on players like Ashley Young because he tends to waiver so long on a decision he misses the opportunity.

Our game, we controlled the first half. Second half I'd say it was 50/50. Which it shouldn't be because it was a home game.

Nani's goal was fantastic.
He's said a couple times now that he wants to be the best player in the world, and the way he's playing, you can tell he is certainly trying to make a case for it on the field.

He's nowhere near the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi, Iniesta etc.

I agree with you, but you can't argue that he looks inspired right now and is playing great.

Yeah, his confidence is high. So he's playing at his best. When Torres is back to his normal self he'd eclipse Nani.
Torres' miss, omg, I can't help but laugh at that. Even more being a Liverpool supporter. But I still hate United nonetheless.

Saying that, I can only see City challenging them for that top spot.

Torres' miss was indeed horrible, and I can't help but feel bad for him. It's too bad that he got the red card yesterday after his great goal he had 10 minutes earlier. I think this is the start of his re-emergence as a great player, but missing out on the next game is not good for him.
I don't think we've seen Nani at his best yet. I'd like to return to this conversation at the end of the season.

Nani is miles away from the likes of Messi, and Messi is a bit younger than Nani. Messi has better players around him, to improve him even more. I just feel Nani hasn't the potential to rise to what Messi is at now. Even Garth Bale is better than him. And he's 2 years younger.

OK I get that you are Messi's number one fan, but I'm not sure why you keep going back to him. We've already agreed that Nani is not on their level, and it would take a hell of a lot for him to get there, even if he ever could. Nani is playing great so far this year, at it seems he is intent to make a real name for himself. Coincidentally, I'm not sure we have seen the best from him yet (he has also been too inconsistent and lacked in a couple areas), but like I said, it would be better to judge at the end of the season.
Also, Bale is certainly not playing better than Nani this year.

My case was that Nani can talk all he likes, but he'll never reach them heights. Even at his peak he'll still not reach Messi now. That's all I meant. Because Messi is the best player in the world at the moment. And you've gotta to judge against the best, if he says he wants to be the best. Is there any point in judging him against the 10th best player?
Bale's had glimpses of good form. But the lack of form is down to the squad. The squad hasn't been the same since Modric said he wanted to leave. Now, it looks like he's wanting to play, the tension around the Spurs team seems to have lifted. And that was shown against us, when they beat the crap out of us 4-0.
There are quite a few players around the same age as Nani that are better and still have loads of room to get better. I just don't see him being one of the best in the world.

Like I've already told you, I agree he won't be the best in the world, that would literally take a miracle. But, it would also take a transfer to another league, probably La Liga, to either Real Madrid or Barcelona (let's assume for the sake of the conversation that he would start and play 90 minutes every game). The EPL is way too competitive top to bottom for Nani to achieve anywhere near the results he could achieve in a league like La Liga. Barca and Real are so far above the rest of the league, it is not even fair. La Liga is far weaker out side of the top 2 teams than the EPL is, mostly due to the fact that Barca and Madrid split by and large the majority of the TV contract money, and the rest of the league splits up the scraps. Barca and Madrid get richer and can buy any players they want, while the rest of the teams are stuck in neutral. The EPL on the other hand, all teams have equal shares in TV contract money, so it doesn't create such a wide gap in quality and allows more teams to buy better players.
But even if Nani were to play 90 minutes every game on Real Madrid or Barca, he most likely wouldn't achieve near the status of Ronaldo or Messi right now. My original comment was simply to say that Nani is playing inspired right now, and I think this could be his best year yet.

Totally agree.
Do you have a favourite team in each of the major football leagues?
I.E Italy: AC Milan.

I don't really have a supreme loyalty to any team in particular, but it has normally been Man U. I liked Liverpool a bit when Torres was there. I'm liking Man City a lot this year though, too.
La Liga: Real Madrid
Serie A: Don't watch it anymore, but it used to be Juventus, back when guys like Pavel Nedved played for the team.
You?
