I just got home from seeing this movie, and I thought it was great. Like k4tz said, it followed a predictable pattern and had nothing new or fresh to offer, but f**k that. I didn't go to see it for stunning plot twists. I went to see it so I could see some g**d*mn aliens get blown up by some f**king Marines. And in that aspect, the movie delivered with gusto.

I liked the hot-wiring a car joke. "Anyone know how?" "He does, he's from Jersey." <-----From New Jersey. Then when he hot-wires it he goes "Newark represent!" Newark is like 10 miles from me You... you live in Jersey?*eyes k4tz nervously*

LOL NeXus. I loathe that show just as much as anyone else. As I've previously stated, I live in the "House" section of NJ, not the "Jersey Shore" section.
Thanks, mav.

Well they spent the first 20 minute talking about ranks which was boarding on getting annoying, there was absolutely no character developnt... So I could have cared less what was going on... or who was dieing, there really was no story other then the fact that they were in a battle, I did not like the cinematography... In fact for the first time in my life I got motion sickness.
I equate this movie to taking 5 shots of vodka and then siting down to watch WW2 footage on the history channel with motion jitter control turned on high.
For me... People getting killed and shit getting blown up is not enough.... It's boring and it doesn't mean anything... I need something to like, hate, or at least find remotely interesting.... Probably why I'm no a huge zombie fan.
I love alien invasion movies... But that was almost an irelivent point of this movie... I didn't even think of it as such.
This is the second movie in history that I have actaly thought about getting up an leaving... I'd watch the other one 2 times in a row before watching this one again.
I give this move 5 black holes...

Wow. Worse than Catwoman Dii? I would rather watch cat woman, Alice, and the Rambo movies... All in a row.... Followed by the live action JLA pilot and a few episodes of birds of pray and 80' soap operas

Oh Christ. That is a serious dislike for the movie coming from you.
Catwoman, Alice AND the Birds of Prey episodes and JLA pilot? Wow. So that would be a giant thumbs down lol.

The 2 people that I seen it with seemed to like it... My question was... Why??? I seriously don't see what there is to like about that movie.... Just me though For me it was so boring... That it felt like a dementor sucking the life out of me to the point where regular boring would have been a good thing. That's why this movie gets an imploded star (black hole) rating...

Oh hey, since you are so big on character development, you should finally give The Walking Dead comic a chance. The series is 93% character development, 7% horror.

"Well they spent the first 20 minute talking about ranks which was boarding on getting annoying, there was absolutely no character developnt..." Or it was given to introduce the characters and the basic outline for the entire plot.
"So I could have cared less what was going on... or who was dieing, there really was no story other then the fact that they were in a battle, I did not like the cinematography... In fact for the first time in my life I got motion sickness." LOL. Yeah, that was a complaint in my review, but nowhere was it enough to make me sick. The worst was when they were the the armored vehicle, but that was the only time when I thought it was too bad.
"For me... People getting killed and shit getting blown up is not enough.... It's boring and it doesn't mean anything... I need something to like, hate, or at least find remotely interesting.... Probably why I'm no a huge zombie fan." I have no idea why anyone would go into this movie expecting a stunning plot or character development. Nothing in any of the promotional material implied its anything but a popcorn style film.
"I love alien invasion movies... But that was almost an irelivent point of this movie... I didn't even think of it as such." So...A movie about marines fighting against an invading alien force isn't about an alien invasion....Care to explain on that one?
"This is the second movie in history that I have actaly thought about getting up an leaving... I'd watch the other one 2 times in a row before watching this one again." To each their own I guess.

Shakey cam can be really distracting for me unless it fits well with the movie. When the entire movie is done documentary style, I do not mind it.
District 9 is a good example.
