Hurricane Katrina, one of the worst natural disasters in the western hemisphere for a long time. That was until the Earthquake in Haiti. There are many reports that mother nature had nothing to do with the disaster. Some people report having seen members of FEMA on site after the disaster destroying the levees. Others say the machine known as HAARP was used to cause quake that rocked Port-au-Prince. But what if it wasn't anything scientific or man made? What if two of the strongest magical centers in the world were hit because they were keeping something locked away? And now in 2011 they're both gone and something has been unleashed upon the world.
Malcolm Jones awoke from something he hadn't had in a long time a nightmare. Ever since the Hurricane and the Quake the Egun have been restless, something was coming something large and terrible. Bird had been around less and less although Malcolm hadn't been in any danger as of late. There was a feeling in his gut that he'd have to leave his native Harlem or what was left of it to head down south. To New Orleans actually, his dreams always started there and ended on a mountain watched by the moon. He'd been to NO a few times met a Mambo by the name of Leanda Meatriux who had magic better than her cooking and a bedside manner that trumped even that. She'd lived almost as long as he did and had several Loa protecting her. If anyone could tell him what was going on or what was about to happen it would be her. So he got on his computer and bought a plane ticket since he didn't know if he could count on Bird to teleport him. The Rook had been away for a while and had been away i Bonyde more and more frequently and while he still had a number of spells he had learned over the years he wouldn't be able to do major workings without the Loa. "Sigh, have to make sure Shika doesn't ruin the place while I'm gone." Tyshika was the manger of the club he owned the Talking Drum, her name meant you've got a sister in Swahili. She was very much a loyal person if not a bit wild. He was well aware that she was attracted to him and entertained the idea of courting her but after a night of talking he told her he'd have to fire her to date her because that would be bad for business. So she decided to stay employed and found some young street type instead. She won't be happy that I'm going to see Leanda, not that she has to know though. Malcolm got himself ready, dressed and walked out of his apartment on 125th street.
