Hello again fellow ledgersomethings that is the word for us. As promised I am not posting a review/discussion on another series.
So here is Wisher:
Publisher: Le Lombard
Type/Genre:Urban Fantasy
Writer: Sebastien Latour
Artist: Giulio De Vita
Description: After the sudden death of a friend. Nigel, London man who's profession is "acquirer of things hard to find" discovers that he is the last living Djinn (genie) on the planet. With this discovery, he is thrown in the midst of a war that has been going on since the early Middle-Ages: the faerie people are slowly being hunted down to extinction by group of humans (the mysterious led by St-George the dragonslayer. With this discovery, Nigel is immediately hunted by the Dragonslayers. Fortunately he is saved by nobody less then the Banshee sent by Merlin the wizard. It is a the beginning of a long journey where Nigel must rediscover his history, his soul and his powers. There is no choice for he is the last hope of the people of magic. If he cannot learn how to summon the mighty powers of the Djinn for one last single wish. Magic and it's folk may well die forever, murderer in the dark by hateful men.
So far the following tomes have been published:
Tome 1: Nigel
Tome 2: Faerie
Tome 3: Glee
Tome 4: Melon hats and Fairy Canes
What makes this a good series?: If you like high octane action worthy of your favorite action/adventure movies mixed in with fable and magic. Then this is a series for you. The characters are interesting, the villains evil and grand in the right fashion, the protagonist ranging from endearing to witty and likable. Artwise it is very well drawn. An interesting story that is light and easy to read. Every tome has something to offer.
Can I get this in the U.S: Ordered online absolutely, order through amazon or such to get the original french version. Marvel is the company currently translating some of Lombard's products in the U.S. Wisher hasn't been translated yet to my knowledge thought.
Final Verdict:
Art: 4/5
Story: 3.5/5
